Part 14

Ashton's pov.

A ringing woke me up from my peaceful sleep. Looking beside me to see Taylor curled up into my body made me smile. I didn't want to disturb her, so I declined the call. I didn't even look at the caller ID.

Seconds later it rang again, I looked to see it was Calum and decided he wouldn't have kept calling if it wasn't urgent. A surge of dread ran over me as I answered. Questions ran through my mind, is one of them hurt? Had they found the rest of Styles gang?

"Calum?" I asked

"Ashton, we've got them, but there too many of them, we have back up from the rest of our guys but when we went into the warehouse to raid some of them got away. They know where you and Tay are and are most likely coming for her. Get out of there as soon as possible, go find a hotel or something just get out of town for a bit." He said panicked. My heart started pounding as I was suddenly overcome with fear. Fear that we were too late and I wouldn't be able to protect Taylor.

"W-when did they escape the warehouse? How long ago?" I asked standing up and throwing clothes of mine and Taylor's into a few bags and suitcases.

"Not long ago, you have time." He said

"How long ago Calum, tell me please it's important." I demanded

"About 10 minutes ago, but don't worry, they are on foot, they will be at least another 20 minutes. I'm not even one hundred percent sure that they will come after her but just incase you need to leave." He stated

"Okay, right well I guess I'll talk to you later... And Calum?"

"Yes?" He asked

"Please keep safe. And the other boys" I said sincerely. I knew that several months ago I would never admit it to them, but I needed them guys. They were my best friends I couldn't lose them.

"Don't we always" Calum laughed lightening the mood.

"That's true... And good job"

"Thanks, just make sure you look after my sister okay? I'll phone you when it's safe to come back" he said

"Okay, and I promise to look after her, bye" I said hanging up.

I raced to the bathroom chucking our toothbrushes, flannels all her makeup stuff (she would thank me for that later). Once I was pretty sure I had everything we needed packed I walked over to where she was fast asleep on the bed. I felt guilty at the thought of waking her but I knew we had to move quick just incase they were on our trail.

"Tay, wake up" I said gently shaking her.

Her eyes slowly opened as she took in where she was.

"Ashton? What are you doing it's too early" she whispered tiredly.

"I know I'm so sorry, but we have to leave right now it's not safe, I'll explain more later okay." I said as she looked scared. "Hey it's alright you will be fine we just need to go now. I have everything packed all we have to do is get going." I said helping her out of bed and pulling one of my hoodies over her head and zipping up her coat for her as she was still half asleep.

Running out of the door grabbing my keys and pulling Taylor behind me, I unlocked the car door telling her to get in as I ran back inside quickly running to the safe in a panic. I punched in the code opening it and grabbing a handful of money and stuffing it into my back pocket. After I'd locked the safe and the front door I ran back to Taylor hoping she was alright by herself.

I sighed in relief as I saw her sitting in the passenger seat slumped against the window as she was drifting in and out of sleep. I hated that It was my fault she was dragged into my life. But she seemed fine about this situation, I thought she would freak out and be more scared. I guess it hadn't really kicked in as she was extremely tired.

I started the car pulling out of the drive and speeding out of the town. I racked my brain for a hotel as far away from our town as I could think of.

I ended up driving for over an hour just to make sure they wouldn't be able to find us. We left no trace so it would be impossible to track us.

I looked over to Taylor who was breathing slowly indicating she was asleep. She looked so cute in my clothes and her coat all bundled up in a ball in the passenger seat. I just wanted to hurry up and get to this hotel so I could take her to a comfy bed and cuddle her.

Even through all of the layers of clothes she had on I could tell she was cold. It was only 4 degrees and it was snowing outside leaving a thin layer of white over the land outside of this car. It was still dark outside I looked at the time seeing it was now just past 3am. The other boys must be so tired, I guess they haven't been able to sleep the past few days. I felt bad sending them out to find the rest of Styles gang, I should have just sent some other people, but Calum, Luke and Michael were the best members, they had the skills, the attitude and the knowledge.

I pulled up into the half empty parking lot. I had to wake Taylor up again, one of the things I hate most.

I decided to get the bags first before walking around to her side of the car and opening the door. This made her jump and she woke up.

"Where are we?" She asked.

"Just some hotel quite far out of town" I told her "come on let's go inside and get a room" I held my hand out for her which she grabbed tightly and she snuggled into my side for heat.

We entered the front doors of the small hotel welcoming the warmth and change of heat.

"Hello, how can I help you?" A tired looking young man asked from behind the reception desk.

"Room for two please" I said

"Double bed or two twin beds?" He asked

"Double" Taylor said from under my arm. I chuckled at her cuteness before nodding at the guy. He handed us a key.

"Room 142" he said "have a good night" he yawned.

We made our way to room 142. Opening the door to reveal a small but cosy room, Taylor took of her coat chucking it on a chair and running straight to the bed and diving under the covers.

"Ashtonnn come to bed" she whined "I'm really cold"

"Hang on a sec" I said walking over to the black out curtains and pulling them shut. At least we would get a few more hours of sleep that way. I paced the small room for a bit thinking about how possible it was for anyone to find us.

"Ashton, I can't sleep without you. Please come to bed you're making me nervous" she said quietly.

"Sorry" I said sliding into bed next to her. "You still cold?" I asked

I felt her nod so I pulled her on top of me wrapping my arms around her to bring her close to me. I wasn't cold in fact I was the opposite so my body heat would radiate off of me and to her. She had her face buried into my neck as her hair cascaded over my face. Brushing it off of me and tucking it behind her ear I planted a kiss on her head.

I would do anything to protect her and keep her safe. I honestly don't think I would be able to live without her.

"I love you" I whispered into her ear. She moaned in response making me laugh quietly. She placed a few small kisses up my neck and onto my jaw line before flopping her head back into my neck to tired to do anything else.
