Niall fixed Xander's shirt as the young boy couldn't stop letting tears fall from his hazel eyes, wanting to hold and cuddle his daddy rather than go to his first day of school.
Liam and Zayn fixed their young boy up with some lunch, making the sandwich he always enjoyed with a side of fruits and chips, along with a juice box of his liking. They came back to witness Xander holding his daddy, crying in his neck, choking out sobs and pleads.
“P-Please, daddy... I don't wanna go!” Xander fussed with a pout as Niall fixed his soft hair, making sure it looked presentable.
“You have to, bud, but Papa, Da and I will be there to pick you up as soon as possible, okay? This is going to be a challenge for you and your fathers, but we'll get through it, yeah? You'll always come home and earn snuggles and kisses from us.”
That made Xander smile a bit as he received his lunch bag from Da, giving him and his Papa a kiss to the cheek before holding his Daddy again to feel properly warm.
“Okie, Daddy. I trust you.” Niall smiled, picking Xander up as he held him closely, allowing Liam and Zayn to get the keys and start the car to drive to the school down the road.
Once they got there, Xander remained calm and let his Papa hold him, resting his head on the taller brunette's shoulder as they all made their way inside of the school. Liam lead them to the classroom from which they had seen before, setting Xander down as the teacher, Ms.Amber, walked up to them.
“Surprised he hasn't acted up yet. Everyone else has already, so you must have some sort of trick of calming him down so easily.” Niall chuckled, watching as Zayn and Liam went over to Xander who talked to another boy.
“Yeah, well he already had a bit of a freakout before we came here, but I reassured him that everything would be okay and that we'd see him as soon as possible.” She smiled, looking over at the young boy and the other two parents that he had in his life.
“I'm sure he'll fit in rather quickly for being so charming at such a young age. Better keep him away from all of the girls.” Niall laughed softly and crossed his arms, watching as Xander continued to talk with the boy.
“I'm positive that he has a liking towards boys, but that's just my opinion after he called Adam Levine cute when he appeared on our television.” Ms.Amber laughed softly this time, watching Xander with the same smile as before, looking back at Niall.
“We don't judge here at all, Mr.Payne. Everyone is welcome here, but not to make you uneasy, you are transgender, right?”
Niall nodded, “I am. Why do you ask?” The kind woman kept her smile, looking back at Xander again with satisfaction.
“I just think it's wonderful that he'll not only have gay parents to look up to but a transgender who has faced so much turmoil and hardships. You're really brave, Mr.Payne, so inspiring, truly.” Niall blushed a bit and glanced at Liam and Zayn who were smiling.
“No one has really said that before, so I appreciate that.” Ms.Amber smiled bigger. “I know that I'll have to explain it all to him eventually, but I want him to grow up first and face reality before explaining what I went through during the first quarter of my life.”
She nodded. “He'll definitely love you even more when he understands it all, I'm sure of it. I'm glad we had this talk though, but I have to make sure to greet the other parents. I'll see you around, Mr.Payne.”
Niall gave her a smile and watched her walk off before going over to his boys, squatting down next to Liam as he listened to Xander and the other boy talk more clearly.
“Maybe he'll be alright, after all?” The Irishman pondered, watching his little boy's movements and gestures whilst he got along with the brunette boy. Liam smiled and stood up, helping Niall stand as Zayn already made his way to the car due to a phone call.
