Chapter 8

By the time I got home it was already 6pm. I let out a huge sigh once I got out of my car, I never thought that I would say this starting so early but home sweet home. I took the key out of my bag but before I could even find it the door opened showing a bubbly Tori. She was dressed comfortably with gray leggings and a Rangers hoodie.
"Wow aren't I lucky, having you greet me after my day of work" I said with a chuckle.
"Well you know how I am, I'm the best roommate ever." Tori responded.
"Speaking of roommate, where is Min?" I asked while heading up the stairs.
"Min usually comes home late. Her hours are from 12-8pm which sucks because I miss her now."
I nodded my head in understanding. Tori followed me to my room and made herself comfortable on my two seater sofa. "So tell me, how did today go? I wanted to stop by and see you but my boss was out most of the time so I had to cover the class." Tori explained.
"Who is you're boss again I asked."
"He's new, and only has been teaching for a year at Cornell. In fact Professor Donovan is the one that brought him here from Colombia University."
I laughed to myself. Tori is so cute and can't seem to answer the question straight out without adding her extra stuff to it.
"What's funny?" Tori asked
I continued to snicker as I answered. "What is his name?"
"Oh yeah, you did ask me that sorry, I do that often."Tori said
I felt bad. I have to remember that we are practically still strangers and that she doesn't get my joking. I need to let her know that I'm not serious and that I love that side of her, how she is so chatty. It reminds me of my sisters friend Charlotte.
"No I was only joking, I'm obsessed with you're personality"
"Really?"
"Yes, for real." I confirmed.
"Okay his name is Professor. Wice."
"Oh really, which professor did you have before him?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Too many to count. I've had I'll say maybe 6 professors? This includes Malik aka Professor Wice."
"What! Why so many?" I asked shocked.
Tori gave a little chuckle while scratching her head. "They never seem to want to keep me so I get a new one every semester."
I shook my head in understanding.
"Okay I'm gonna bathe before laying down I'll see you tomorrow? I asked.
"Yeah, you don't want a snack before bed?"
"Oh yeah I completely forgot about food, I'll order something if I get hungry, thank you." I responded.

I went to my bathroom and filled the bath tub with water. Most people hate baths because they feel like they are sitting in their own dirt, but not me, it's so calming and I wash off my body completely with a quick shower afterwards anyway.
I filled the bath with my lavender and aloe bath salts then dipped my body in the hot water. This is exactly what I needed after a long day.
As I really began to relax my phone rang. It was a number I didn't recognize so I didn't pick up , but once again the phone rang. This time I picked up.
"Hello?"
"Miss. McLarin, this is Nicholas, how are you?"
I immediately sat up from the tub to address Nicholas properly.
"Oh yes hello, what brings you to call?" Did that sound rude? I thought to myself.
"Ms. McLarin... I am sorry to call you at this hour, but I got called to do something very important and I need to be out of state for this. Can you prepare a lesson plan for the next two days based off the book the class is reading?"
I was caught off guard.
Nicholas won't be here?
I'll be on my own?
I immediately got out of my head. Skylar this is what you've worked you're butt off for.
"Yes, I can do that, what about the other TA? I asked out of curiosity.
"She will be teaching one of my other classes." Nicholas answered in his sexy deep voice.
"Okay Nicholas, I will get that lesson plan taken care of, you won't need to worry at all." I said
All of a sudden I heard the dial tone. Did this man just hang up on me!!
