And If I Say Yes? Prologue

BOOM

He was woken by a loud thunder clap that shook the house, instantly at alert he checked his surroundings to make sure she was alright, but beside him was nothing but a lump of cold wrinkled sheets. Gradually leaving the bed he headed to the connected bathroom where he knew she would be. He could see that the door was left slightly ajar indicating that his past thought was correct.

There on the floor with an empty bag of cocaine adjacent to her lifeless looking body, was the women he had called his own for 6 years of his life. Feeling defeated his body gave out, soft sobs could be heard from the void room. Not by sadness, but by the overwhelming feeling of tiredness for giving her his all. He decided from that point on that he was done trying. He was done with loving someone that can't even love themselves first, done with loving someone full of greed, he was done with loving a lie.

"911 what's your emergency?"

"She's passed out, she has overdosed."

"And your address sir?"

"18 Misery Lane"

"We have an ambulance on the way, please stay on the line."

Red and blue lights blurred his vision while the shrieking sound of sirens flooded the neighborhood.

"Sir, where is she?" The paramedic asked.

"Upstairs bathroom" he answered.

Without a word the paramedics rushed inside the place he called home.

Another clap of thunder was heard followed by drops of rain pelting down from the angry sky.

Why so upset! He yelled out.

It's me that should be angry!

Taking a second to gather himself, a thought came to mind.

You're crying for me aren't you?

You feel bad don't you?

... Well don't.

He grabbed his keys from inside his "home" and backed out of that forsaken place before he could even have laid eyes on the passed out lie he loves.

No, who he used to love.
