I sat in the back seat of our family car, listening to music, and trying not to kill my brother as he kept pelting things at me when mom wasn't paying attention to us. My name is Lilith Rumancek I'm eleven and I had been stuck in a car since a day ago. Why? we were moving to a new place and I didn't like it, my Uncle Vince died from alcohol poisoning a few weeks ago, which meant mom got her brother's place, and which meant we had to move from one place to another. come on Lil's it'll be a fresh start, new school, new place, new friends? I looked up at mom who was looking at me in the mirror I glared. I don't want a new school, I don't want to move, and I don't need nor want new friends, I was a freak there and I'll be a freak here. she sighed. worth a shot. my brother muttered as he stuck an ear bud in then pushing play, and suddenly pushing stop. good going you just made yourself def. I said he turned and glared and threw an empty bottle at me. ok, stop it, we'll be out of the car soon and things will be better. was that for us or you? I asked as mom was at wits end with the both of us, my brother and I were good friends on a normal day basis but keep us cooped up for too long we're at each others throats. both. she said.

TIME SKIP

we finally made it but I didn't move as my brother and mom got out of the car I just stayed put listening to my music, I didn't do well with change even when it would probably be good for me.

I sighed and looked at my sister through the car window. I'll give you twenty bucks if you can get her out of the car and in the house. come on mom we both know I won't get twenty bucks, but I will get a black eye. I said looking at her she smiled and I nodded I walked around to the other side of the car and opened the door and slid in shutting it. hey Lil's, come on it's not that bad... what do you say? get out of the car? I sighed and reached over taking her ear buds out they blared music I then paused it she then looked at me. come on, get out of the car. I don't want to. if you think mom will take you back to Delaware if you stay in the car, you are so wrong. she looked at her lap. come on you're not the only one that didn't want to move. liar you were so excited to move and get out of there. she snapped I sighed. it was hard to relate to her cause I was six years older, and to be honest sometimes I wanted to know what my mom was thinking when she had my sister with the dead beat of a dad we both shared. come on seriously kiddo get out of the car. no. I looked down and then thought of something I opened the car door. fine ok, I got it. I said I then grabbed her ipod and jumped out slamming the door I dropped the ipod into my box and grabbed it sticking my cigarette back in my mouth she got out of the car and mom turned. alright she is out of the car. I said raising my box up some as she went to get her ipod. GIVE IT BACK OR I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU! ok, while you're doing that grab your box. I said walking off behind mom. you owe me twenty bucks. I told mom she laughed some I looked at the house in the distance. hello neighbors I muttered before walking inside.

I got inside and put my box down on the table. where is it? I snapped at Peter he looked at me and smirked. where's what? my ipod stupid, where is it?!? he laughed and handed it to me. just needed you out of the car that's all. he said I turned and watched as mom sat down. whoa shouldn't we check for bed bugs first? we'll be fine. I looked at Peter shaking my head. Vince was so sad when he was sober. I looked shocked at Peter. Vince was sober?!? he asked just as shocked. yeah, once. I nodded as that sounded better. our uncle was always drunk I had met him a few times but anytime I was around him I got annoyed because he liked to pick on me. hey I'm gonna go out and look at the town. I looked at Peter. ok, hang those herbs before you go. he got out a few and walked outside. mom can I go with him? um no you have to unpack, and I thought tomorrow we would head out and get stuff for school. I nodded and grabbed my box and headed to my room I opened it and sighed. great, a crap room. I said walking in and setting my box down and started unpacking
