I walked out of law scowling.

All the noise really got to me. The constant chatter and shouts of the sporty Jocks and the not-school-appropriate gestures of the scantily- clad cheerleaders really set me on edge.

Of course the more obnoxious jerks did too, but I didn't really mind the goths or the gamers or the anti-social kids; they minded their own business and I minded mine. Unless, per say, some one thought it a good idea to taunt me. They learnt the hard way.

Ugh. I thought to myself. Where was Heaven? She was supposed to be waiting for me just outside in front of the azaleas and primrose garden. I glanced at a window as I walked by it. She wasn't in front of the garden.

Panic flooded through my veins like liquid poison. What if he had come back for her? what if.... what if he...

No. I physically shook myself coming to a halt at a corner. He wouldn't. Even if he did I would stand by her side and protect her. I wouldn't let him touch her again. As long as I could stand and fight, I would. Even if my legs were taken from me, I would destroy the bastard from on the feking ground. He wouldn't hurt her again...

I started up walking again and made the turn into the main hallway. Where was she? There was angry shouts coming from behind me.I looked over my shoulder to see where is was coming from. I smirked. Martin Klesson. My childhood arch-nemisis. No matter what I tried, Martin always had to prove he was faster, smarter, stronger and just overall better at everything. He annoyed the crap out of me from day one. But right now all I could do was laugh inwardly. The idiot had gone and poked fun in the face of the school hulk. Well, that's what everyone called him. Ben Chicco was no small guy. 6"9, more muscles than anyone I'd ever seen. He was a big guy, but he was average in the looks. Dark brown hair, and menacing green eyes, he was just fine looking. Ben, or as I called him-( he only ever let me give him a nickname )-Benji, was a complete badass. He had a girlfriend, but I wasn't fond of her. Ella Morose was an interesting girl, but she was nosy and gossipy. But he liked her and that's what matters. He was a good friend of mine. One out of three.

I continued walking towards the front door and stopped when I reached it. Where was she.... I looked out at the other garden and saw her. Must've got mixed up at the place we had decided to meet.

I stepped outside and---------- I was slammed by someone into the ground on my ass. They must've been running because I was hit with a strong enough force to knock me to the ground.

I leapt to my feet, fists clenched and ready to swing at the moron who ran into me. They were going to pay for wrecking my new outfit...

I looked over at the boy who was still lying on the pavement. I looked at the mop of shaggy black hair, contemplating on whether to kick its owner hard in the shins or make their life a living hell in a within seconds of learning their name.

He proceeded to brush off his jeans and maroon t-shirt, not yet getting up to ask if I was alright.

I cleared my throat loudly.

"Ahem."

...No response.

"Ahem!"

...Nothing.

"Excuse me!!"

He got to his feet and looked over at me. When he looked me in the eye I froze.

He had red eyes.

Deep, deep, scarlet red. And he must've noticed I had a red eye as well: his shock was evident.

He stopped starring at my eyes and shook his head.

"I'm really sorry for running into you! I'm new here and I think I'm late for class and I can't seem to find anything and my parents will be furious if I mess up on the first day and--"

I cut him off.

"Hey, look. It's okay, I mean, just don't do it again, alright?"

I studied the boy, wondering what was wrong with me? where was my ever ready rude retort or sarcastic comeback? Why was I being nice to him?

"I really am sorry, are you sure your alright?" he gestured to my soiled skirt.

I gave him a slow smile. He seemed alright. Not rude or being an idiot.

"Nah, I can always buy a new one."

"Oh, um, I forgot to introduce myself." He licked his lips nervously. "I'm Jesse Ortin."

I studied him carefully. There was something odd about him. It wasn't a bad feeling, but it wasn't normal.

"Are you new here?" I questioned.

"Yeah, actually. Just moved here from Cali with my Aunt and Uncle. We-..."

He let his sentence trail off as he glanced up at me from staring at the ground.

He met my eyes with his deep scarlet ones and held my gaze.

God, he had beautiful eyes. I had met a few other red-eyed were's in the past, and none of them really stood out to me. But Jesse, Jesse was doing something to me. When I looked into his eyes my heart stared to pound rapidly and my stomach felt like baby bunnies had been born in there and we're have a contest on who could jump the hardest. Weird analogy, I know, but that's how my stomach felt.

"Uh," I started to say once I realized we had been staring at each other for almost a minute.

"Oh, sorry, I should," He started to say.

"I should go." I finished for him."See you around, Jesse Ortin."

He stared to walk away but he pause just as he reached to door.

"Wait," He called back to me. But I hadn't moved.

I shook myself mentally. I wasn't a mushy person. I was a badass. A badass who didn't fawn over attractive men. I pushed the bunnies into their den. I shouldn't be standing here gawking at a guy. Where was my sarcastic tongue and mocking smirk? What the hell was happening to me??

"Wait." He said again.

"What?" I snapped at him. No one did this to me.

He looked me straight in the eye.

"I never caught your name, Miss."

I felt my bunnies peeking out and getting ready to leap.

"Quinn."

He gave me an earth shattering smile.

"See you around, Quinn." He said simply and walked inside of Heeden.

I felt my heart start to flutter and I smiled back.

Crap. What was happening to me?
