Bosses Orders

I was out on a deal when my phone rang. I finished my deal and answered the phone watching my client walk away. "Hello? Alex?" I said into the phone quickly turning around and walking away, as I saw a police cruiser pull in front of the ally way. "Meet me in the forest. Now, ive got a mission for you." Alex stated, but before I could answer him he ended the call. "Damn it Alex." I said walking towards the town line. I made it into the forest and spotted Alex sitting in a tree. "Hey, dumbass! Why did you call me here?" I said walking towards the tree. Alex hopped out of the tree and stared at me with a blank look. "I need you to find this group and join them." He handed me a piece of paper with an address and the words "The Vipers." I looked over the piece of paper multiple times memorizing the address. "Wait, The Vipers?" I looked at Alex. "I know that gang. Their leader or boss is the most popular guy at our Highschool. Xavier M.H., right?" Alex nodded and my face paled. I had the biggest crush on Xavier, but I couldn't date him because we're from rival gangs and it would never work out. "Alex, I cant do this." I held out the piece of paper for him to take it back. "Evangline, I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. If you dont do this mission I'll have to kick you out of the gang and you'll be left on the streets just like you were before. You wont have anyone to help you." I tensed up at his statement. He was right. I would be left on the street like a homeless dog. I sighed and stuffed the paper in the pocket of my hoodie. "Fine, I'll do the little JOB, but if they find out I'm working for you too......" He nodded. Knowing what I would say next. "They'll kill me." Alex looked at the ground trying to find something to say. "Evie, I know you can do it. You're strong and you can hide things from other people well. If I didnt think you could do it I wouldn't have chosen you for this job. Now, do you have a cigarette?" I chuckled at his statement and handed him a cigarette. "You got that right. I can hide things from other people very well." He stuck the cigarette in his mouth and lit it. "Yeah, well, we have school tomorrow and you have a gang to join. So, we should head home." I nodded and followed him out of the forest and back into town.
~Time Skip~
We made it to our apartment and headed inside. I went straight to the bathroom and took a long hot shower. As I was finishing drying off my hair I heard yelling coming from outside of the bathroom. "How could you let HER take this job Alexander?! This was supposed to be MY JOB and you know it!" It was Elizabeth, or as she goes by Ella. "What's she yelling at him for?" I whispered to myself and opened the bathroom door slightly. "Ella, she deserves this job. She may be new to this whole thing but shes been doing a good job. She deals what I give her and returns with the money. If she doesn't give the right amount of cash back she takes on more clients to make up for it." Ella scoffed. It made me want to throw my switch blade at her head. I stepped out of the bathroom and looked at Ella and Alex. "I-I'm heading to bed. I-I'll see yall tomorrow." With that I went to my room and fell asleep.
