Syrena, also known by her human name Syrena Isobel Lesa or by her superhero name, Amphitrite, is an Atlantean born into the Royal Guard to serve the Royal Atlantis family as it's bodyguard, specifically acting as Queen Atlanna's bodyguard until she was placed on guard of her oldest son, Arthur Curry. She is the daughter of General Cyrus and his late wife, Anisa, both powerful Atlanteans, her mother having been a powerful healer who was caught in in the crossfire of a war between Atlantis and Xebellian. She was the older sister of Cira, and is also a good friend to Mera, who was raised by her side as a member of at the Atlantean Royal Guard.

During the events of Justice League, she was first introduced watching Arthur Curry, who she guarded over, however she was called back to Atlantis by Mera when the parademons began to intrude Atlantis to retrieve the Mother Box. After her younger sister, Cira, died in the battle between the Atlantean Royal Guard and Steppenwolf, she joined the fight with other members of the Justice League, including Arthur Curry also known as Aquaman.
Alias: Syrena Isobel Lesa, Amphitrite, the Water Witch, the Mermaid
Family: General Cyrus (Father, alive), Anisa (Mother, deceased), Cira (Younger sister, deceased), Mera (Adopted sister, alive)
Personality: Syrena is a strong woman with a sense of justice and duty, taking her role as a member of the Atlantean Royal Guard very seriously and never wavering. She followed her Queen's orders without question when she was given the secret mission to watch over her son, Orin, also known as Arthur Curry and Aquaman, not even revealing her mission to her father, sister or Mera. However, despite her loyalty she has no qualms about putting someone in their place, even if that someone is Arthur Curry, chastising his devil-may-care attitude and gruff outward appearance, despite the fact that she knows he cares. She is also unafraid to remind Arthur about his duty to his people or smacking him when he bad-mouthed his mother, her Queen. She is also unafraid to be a voice of reason, even if she is a bit commanding, a trait she inherited from her father.

As a member of the Royal Guard she was trained in the art of war, knowing this she is a highly capable strategist as well as adapting in situations. She seems to have a fearless attitude in the face of danger, willing to go out of her way to help those in need, even risking her own life if necessary. However, as she is a dedicated member of her family and a proud Atlantean, she is at times played on by her own need for vengeance. For example, when Steppenwolf killed her younger sister, Syrena instantly joined the Justice League in order to exact revenge for her and her fellow fallen Atlanteans.

Though not young by human standards, Syrena is still considered almost a child in Atlantean culture as they live long lives. Syrena has a love for learning of other cultures, specifically that of the human culture which she learned by watching humans. However, at times she still does not understand humans, such as their version modesty, and also believes they are sometimes petty, acting in a slightly condescending manner towards them, such as with Bruce Wayne. Yet she is capable of realizing her own mistakes, as well as apologizing without a problem.
