The squeezing of someone’s hand on mine woke me, to the stiff bed underneath me and the gleaming LED lights above me. I could hear the beeping of a heart monitor, could it possibly be mine? I couldn’t see my surroundings, but I could feel and hear everything. My split lip, broken arm and possibly sprained knee. I could taste the blood in the back of my throat, probably from my nose bleeding or did. I heard sniffling, but couldn’t tell who was doing it. It sounded like a women, but it could just be a man with a really girly cry.

“Ally, if you can hear me. Just know I’m here for you, and I care so much for you.” A younger boy’s voice said close to my ear. It sounded slightly familiar, but not enough for me to make out who.

--

“It’s been weeks since she’s been in here, will she ever wake up?” I am awake, actually. Just no one can tell. I hope Daphne, Haley, and Nate are here, but I’d rather not see my parents. I hope those are the voices I’m hearing. Someone was asking the doctor what was going to happen with me, and is it possible for me to survive. My knee has stopped hurting, but my arm has it’s moments. After what sounded like the doctor left, my eyes finally opened on their own. I saw my mom, dad, Daphne, and Nate - But where’s Haley and what makes my parents think I like them enough for them to be here? They weren’t here the last time I blacked out by too much drugs.

“Sweetheart, thank god you’re awake.” Mom ran up to my side, and I stared angrily at her making her back up. “You don’t..Remember me, do you?”

“I remember, perfectly clear. The last memory I have of you is you not liking my idea of getting my own apartment, but guess what? I’ve lived there for over a month now, without any support from you!” I yelled, getting as close to her as I could while laid down in this bed.

“It’s okay, Ally. Daphne and I are here.” Nate said, his gorgeous eyes staring into mine. Behind him, my mom was being taken out of the room by dad. They were all dressed up, probably out on some fancy date since they can afford it without me being their daughter. Daphne shook her head at me when Nate gripped my hand, disappointment lingering in her eyes. I furrowed my eyebrows at her, confused at her look.

“Could you give Ally and I some time alone, Nate?” Daphne asked, her eyes widening.

“Uhm, sure.” He stood, whispering something in Daphne’s ear - Making her glare at him, since when are they enemies?

Daphne’s P.O.V

“Don’t tell her anything other than what she remembers, because you and I both know she won’t believe you. I am the love of her life.” He disgusted me, he was using her accident to his advantage. She needed to know what he did to her, because she just has to believe me.

“Where’s Haley?” Ally asked, looking out the door.

“They broke up. We don’t talk to her really anymore.” I started off with the easy stuff, things she’d believe.

“Really! Now I have my chance.” Her memory loss didn’t go back that far, because she told me about her feelings for him not long before the incident between them two or else she wouldn’t have said that in front of me.

“What is the last thing you remember, Ally?” I asked, bringing her focus back to me.

“What do you mean, last thing I remember? What happened?” She sat up, confusion spread across her face.

“You were in an accident, with a drunk driver while you were with your parents. You were starting to have a great relationship with them again, because Nate hurt you, bad.” When I began to explain, she shook her head, not able to take in everything. Ryan began to walk in, I could already tell she was going to ask who he was.

“I’m Ryan.” He held out his hand, just the type of guy he was. Ryan and I sat down next to each other, and held her hands. She couldn’t keep her eyes off him, hopefully she liked him. We explained everything we could think of, and she never seemed to really think any of it was true.

“No! Nate wouldn’t do that to me! You are lying to me. I have no memory of any of that happening, none of it! You two should leave, just leave because you obviously aren’t my true friends. I mean I don’t even know you, “Ryan”.” She put air quotes around Ryan’s name, but continued with her raised voice. “Send Nate back in, he’ll tell me if what you two have told me is true.” She crossed her arms - When she knew the possibility of her being wrong, she put her defences way high up. We didn’t even need to call for Nate, because she must’ve heard her yelling.

“Don’t listen to them Ally, I’m here for you, as your friend.” He held her side, smirking devilish at us.

Ryan’s P.O.V

What a dick, he doesn’t deserve the sweet and caring Ally. Her and I have a connection, which I didn’t think I’d have with anyone in a while since my last girlfriend. I just hope she’ll soon remember everything that’s happened, and leave Nate like she had planned on doing. When Nate kissed her, I figured that would trigger it but to Daphne and my luck it didn’t.

“Get the hell away from her! You practically raped her a few days ago, you are a pig.” I couldn’t take it, she just needed to know the truth. The Nate a few days ago, probably would’ve killed me right here, right now. But since Ally hasn’t seen the real him “yet”, he’s proving the last thing she saw of him. Daphne led me outside, telling me that was way too far. “Too far! Are you fucking kidding Daphne?! He tried to rape your best friend! All you’re gonna do is let them be together again, what a freaking great friend you are.” I stormed out the hospital since many people stared me down. After a few minutes of huffing and breathing crazy, I felt a slap to the back of my head.

“She’s mine now. You like her don’t you, well too bad. She’s in love with me again, and you have no chance with her. I’ll make sure she keeps what she remembers now, maybe the more rough way.” I shoved him, he’s one of the biggest assholes I’ve ever met. He punched me in the jaw, which hurt like crazy. I had gotten into fist fights before, but not in a long time. We fought for only 5 minutes, and then we were out of breath. “Just go “Ryan”, you don’t stand a chance against the love of her life.” I hated that he was right. If she didn’t get her memory, she would never know who I was unless we got to know one another again and who’s to say that she’ll be just as interested as before? Life just likes to throw things at you, but you have to keep pushing through and I pray to god that Ally does that with her memory in tact.

Please Ally Rhodes, get your memory back soon, and remember the good conversations we’ve had and the ones I hope we have soon. Please Alice Elizabeth Rhodes, one day remember me again.
