Chapter 28

Meredith POV

I can't let her do this.

She can't marry him. She just can't.

I have to do this. So I walked in to the room pretending to talk to somone outside. Janice gasped.

"What are you two doing?" I said acting like I didn't know.

"Um I was just leaving." Janice said and she looked at Gabriel and walked out the room.

"Way to go Meredith" Gabriel said walking out of the room.

"What did I do?" I said to myself looking out the door to see people surronding the door.

Carter POV

I was waiting for Mere to come back down the stairs but all I could see were people surrounding the room which has she just went in. I walk to the bottom of the stairs and I find Janice, drunk, nearly fall down the stairs. I catch her and help her stand up.

"Please help me Carter he won't leave me alone.He wants me to marry him I just can't do it." She was telling me.

"Who asked you to marry them?" I said in confusing. I thought it was one of the drunk guys here but she seemed really scared.

Before she could say anything I hear Gabriel calling and looking for Janice.

I see Meredith trying to get in front of him looking for me. I call at her and she rushes down the stairs and takes Janice to have her calm down.

"I thought I told you to stay away from her." I said pushing him.

"You aren't my father. You can't control me or her." Gabriel said as a back fire.

"I can't control her. I don't need to control her. Look at her she is in the corner crying because you scare the shit out of her. You are always going to scare her for the things you did to her that night and she will never forget it. You have to earn her trust. You have to earn back the groups trust. I thought we were brother, man but I guess that all changed." I said and  I walked away from him.
