i did a book like this on a previous account of mine, but i got locked out of it so we going✈️ part two i guess
Why is it that so many books on here have extremely crappy covers? and it is almost always the most cliche books, too. hmm, it's almost like the authors put minimal effort into the story because they know they're gonna get a lot of reads anyway? (cough cough)
for instance, if it's a werewolf story (probably something about being rejected by the alpha or pregnant by the alpha or some bs like that) the story (surprise!) likely has a wolf on the cover.

which, yeah, it's a werewolf book, i get it. but it's so /obvious/ from the title that it's a werewolf book that the big ass angry wolf on the front cover is counterproductive.
then of course, you have your bad boy books. you know, probably have a girl and a boy in some sort of cheesy romantic pose, or a nerd girl on the cover (who is probably a supermodel) or a really hot (supposedly high school age) guy, (which, lets face it, no one is that hot at the age of 16. y'all know how puberty works right?) also known as 'bad boy' male protagonist. probably leather, tattoos, or motorbikes or even cigarettes on the cover (cuz those are so bad apparently) and maybe, if you're lucky, all of the above.

and of course, bonus points if the image is bad quality and the title is misspelled.
Then, of course, you have the fan fiction covers. need i even go further into this?

poorly edited, poorly spelled, poorly executed covers of poorly written fan-fictions. you know i'd say 'we can do better' but at this point, i'm not sure if we can.
the point of this chapter is to say, a lot of these books have really bad covers and there is honestly no excuse. with things such as cover workshops, cover request books, and all these apps and technology to edit photos and add text and things like that, there is no way your cover should be looking like a four year old made it. what's more, a lot of people underestimate the effect of simple covers. you don't need to go all out with editing to get your point across, as long as it looks neat and put together. you don't always have to make your covers yourself. and, for the love of GOD please learn some sort of color theory. if i see bright neon colors over a cover one more time-
