Ch 8 - Losing my heartbeat Pt 1

PHANA

Rubbing my full belly, I licked my lips, my tummy was full but my heart still felt heavy, with a sly smile on my face, I sneaked a look at my phone when I thought Kit and Beam weren't looking.

SMACK

"Pha", screamed both Beam and Kit snatching my phone onto the table.

Kit shook his head and rolled his eyes and Beam just continued to smirk at me.

"Pha, you have to let Wayo out of your sight sometimes, it's not healthy the way you keep him close and under your supervision, gives me the creeps", said Kit as a shudder went down his spine.

I replied in indignation "Like Ming doesn't do the same with you, he's from engineering faculty, I wouldn't be surprised if he planted a tracking device in your phone"

"Forth wouldn't dare do that to me", said Beam pretending to flick his hair.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Both me and Kit laughed till are sides hurt, Beam rolled his eyes and tapped his fingers on the table, waiting for us to stop laughing.

Kit wiped his tears "Beam, Forth doesn't need to plant a device on you, both of you are as possessive as each other".

My brooding mood was lifted but still at the back of my mind my instincts where telling me something wasn't quite right.

After splitting the bill, we all headed in different directions, Forth urgently phoning Beam to pick him up, while Kit running to his car before Ming whisk him away on another shopping escapade.

Right now I envy them, my heart felt sad at the thought of my precious Yo not sleeping in my arms tonight, just letting my eyes off the road for a second while I checked my phone, I looked up suddenly to see a dark figure in front of my moving car, swerving to the side suddenly to avoid them, I screeched on the breaks and narrowly avoided hitting a food cart. Thank god I was on a small road near my dorm, I dreaded to think if I'd been speeding. I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and ran out to see if anyone was injured.

"I'm so sorry, is anyone hurt, I'm a medical student, I can help you", I said reaching down to pick up the figure struggling to stand up.

Dusting themselves down the lady looked up at me and smiled.

She had the most vivid crystal blue eyes I'd ever seen, like never ending deep pools of water and they looked beautiful with her heavily kohled eyes, she must me mixed as her skin was slightly tan, but she had a typically thai nose. Her long black hair swung around her waist, her arms and fingers were full of the most intricate bangles, bracelets and rings I'd ever seen of varying colours and sizes, she wore vivd bright layers of clothing and had a large head scarf tied around her skull and had on the most ginormous golden hoop earring.

Picking up her mustard yellow mirror work bag she shook her head and placed a hand on my shoulder squeezing it tightly,

"It's ok young man, no harm no foul, but my my you are indeed handsome", she said raising her eyebrows suggestively.

"But what's this, your aura its so dark",

Grabbing at her bag she produced a few weird looking rocks and waved them around my head murmuring,

"His chakras are all over the place, this won't do, TUT TUT TUT".

Muttering a few incoherent words, she sat me down on a nearby park bench and pulled out a crystal.

Placing it on my forehead she muttered a few words under her breath with her eyes closed.

" My dear boy, I sense something, a dark cloud, and a heavy presence of bad energy"

Rummaging in her bag she took out a set of what I thought was playing cards, she smiled wide with her vivid eyes and I noticed her eyes crinkle up with her expression.

" To say thank you for not running me over I'll read your fortune for free, I sense you need clarity right now Nong".

She expertly shuffled them and spread them across the table.

" It's OK, I don't really believe in tarot, I'm a medical student, scientist don't believe in this"

The lady purse her lips and grabbed my hand roughly, she whispered slowly,

"Don't you want to know about your fate with your partner, its not looking good Nong, one wrong step by you or them could prove fatel",

Thinking about the uneasiness I'd felt all day I quickly pointed at three cards and she expertly pulled them out with her long red talons.

Muttering she looked at them disapproving and then locked eyes with me pointing at the first card saying,

"This is the tower card but in upright position, it signifies unseen danger, crisis or critical event"

My attention focused sharply on every syllable of her words.

Tuning her finger over the second card she said,

" This is the moon, it means things aren't what they appear to be, a truth you cannot admit or a misunderstanding, this is an illusion and deception card, the third is ace of swords upright, this means that if your heart and mind are strong then you will overcome and  bring clarity"

Skilfully collecting her cards and shoving them in her bag she stood up and grabbed me suddenly in a tight hug.

Patting my back she placed a crystal in my hand, " Remember keep your heart and mind strong and you will overcome"

A sudden horn honked from a bike parked nearby and the stranger ran towards them waving at me she shouted,

" Good luck Nong"

I found my hand waving at her as she rode off into the night, chuckling at her strange behaviour.

Clutching the pink crystal tightly I thought maybe Yo will like it, my phone in my breast pocket vibrated silently and I picked it up.

"Pha, this is Wayo's professor, I'm phoning to let you know Wayo has been missing in the forest for a few hours now, he was last seen four hours ago and hasn't been seen since"

My knees buckled and I fell to the ground, blind panic took over me and I screamed down the phone,

"GIVE ME THE ADDRESS RIGHT NOW"

Hello lovely readers, sorry for my absence but I've had some family stuff to sort out, I also wanted to write a double update but  I've not had time to as I'm going away this weekend on holiday, I'll try and update soon and again please don't mind my spelling and grammar mistakes, I'll try edit later.
