Via's POV
6:59 am | starbucks

i work today. i also want to kill myself. i don't why i don't just quit my job. i'm financially stable and really don't need to wake up three days of the week super early just to make coffee for grouchy old people.

i grab my apron and tie it around my waist, making sure my name tag doesn't fall off.

after everyone's coffee is made i bring it out to them and the line dies down. people sit at tables drinking their drinks while staring at phones or laptops.

i make myself an iced mocha because why not? the bell on the door rings midway through me making my drink. i glance up and do a double take.

i step away from the drink ingredients and over to the register.

he sees my name tag and chuckles, smirking to himself.

"can i help you?" i ask with a smile.

"you're the valencia my brother won't stop talking about," he says smiling. "that's why he told me to go to this starbucks, specifically."

  woah. they definitely look alike.

"and i'm assuming your grayson," i say back smirking.

"ha, yeah that's me, the better twin," he laughs causing me to chuckle. "um, i'll take a venti mocha with coconut milk."

i type that into the computer and his total comes up. he hands me his card and pays before stepping into the pick up area.

i go make his drink and give it to him.

"thanks. have a good day," he says before smiling and walking out.

i mumble a 'you too' and he walks out. i finish making my drink and check the time.

9:56 am.

ugh i should probably take this time to go tell my manager i'm quitting.

i walk into the staff room down the hall where my manager sits on her phone.

"hey, kai," i greet her. her head shoots up and she smiles.

"hey, valencia, what do you need?" she asks almost in a concerned tone.

i wring my hands together, nervously. "i, uh, i'm quitting."

"oh, ok. when?" she questions standing up and setting her phone down.

"uh, today," she nods her head. "look, i'm financially stable and i feel i like i should just be living my life. i'm only young once."

she opens her arms for a hug and i step into them.

"well, i hope i see you around," she says giving me a sad smile.

"you too," i mumble.

i walk back out and grab my drink before hanging up my apron and taking my name tag with me.
