David pondered the outskirts of the forest mindlessly. He kept his guard up, but found this as an opportunity to relax the best he could.
Then he felt a small drop of water on his nose, followed by a strike of lightning.
"You have got to be kidding me." David moaned and looked up to the sky.
It was going to be a long ass day.

He was out in the forest for 3 hours. There was no sign of the cultist anywhere, so David decided to head back. David glanced down at his watch to see the time.
It read 4:30 and he was absolutely drenched. It was still storming, but he didn't seem to care.
David squinted as he thought he saw a tall figure run ahead of him towards the camp. Daniel was the first thing that came to his mind. A lightning bolt flashed through the sky as David sprinted after the figure.
After about 2 minutes of sprinting, David lost the figure, but ran as fast as he could back to the camp.

The campers all seemed to manage themselves and do their own thing all day. Nobody left the mess hall and nobody tried. Gwen sat right by the door just in case all day. She started to get worried about David and considered going out and looking for him, but the quartermaster was nowhere in sight and the kids would probably set the mess hall on fire if she left them alone.
Gwen jumped out of her chair as she heard a couple bangs on the door.
"Who the fuck is that?" Max said like he forgot David wasn't in the room.
Gwen opened the door to reveal a soaking wet David, who didn't walk in. "Gwen do you mind if I head back to my cabin?" The rain pounded at his back. Gwen wasn't expecting such a question from David. "Uh yeah sure. Did you see him?" Gwen anxiously tapped her foot on the ground as David raked his hand through his soaked hair. It was obvious he was stressed by the bags under his eyes. "I don't really know, Gwen. I just need to regroup and continue looking tomorrow.
Gwen could see the worry in David's eyes. The bags under his eyes practically forced her to let David go back to his cabin.
"I'll be out again by tomorrow morning." David said, giving a small smile before heading to his cabin.
The Campers had lost interest as soon as they saw that it was just David and went back to doing whatever they were doing, but Gwen just sat down and thought.
'What the hell is that guy up to?"
