About 5 minutes of silence, Max finally broke the silence by turning the radio on.
It was on some R&B station and he turned it up a bit.
David looked over at Max, who looked right back at him.
"What? I'm only coming with you to make sure you don't pass out or some shit." He huffed and slunched down in the seat.
"Language." David sighed and looked towards the road, but soon enough he found himself switching the radio himself.
Max watched curiously to see what David was going to turn the station to, and was surprised when he changed the station to just a Top 40 Hits station.
David yawned and turned all of his focus to the road.

By the time the two got to the hospital, the bandage on David's face was bled through and he was holding a towel to it.
It was a surprise that he hadn't passed out yet to Max.
A doctor took the two into a room and David sat down on a hospital bed looking think and the doctor had to raise his chair to reach his face, even while David was slunched down.
Max just watched the doctor put 12 stitches in David's face, and David not even flinching.
He inspected his work once he was done, then but a long bandage on David's face.
The doctor cleared his throat.
"You're almost set, Mr. Greenwood. Make sure you come back in 3 weeks to get the stitches taken out." The doctor handed David some paperwork.
"One you fill out the paperwork you're free to go." The man stood up and left the room, and Max crawled up next to David.
"How the hell are you going to pay for that?" Max asked, noticing the bill at the bottom of the paper.
The total read $602.56 with insurance covering a lot of it.
David yawned and scribbled some stuff down on the paper, not surprised by the total.
"I have a good enough paying job outside of Camp Campbell. And insurance" David squinted his eyes at something on the page, then stood up.
"Where?" Max was surprised to hear that his counselor actually had a different job other than the shitty camp he attended.
"Don't you worry about it." David smiled and patted Max's hair.
Max looked up at David curiously as they excited the room.
David handed the paperwork to some lady and walked out, Max following behind him.

Once they got in the car Max spoke up.
"So if you have a good paying job outside of the shitty Camp you work at now, why work here?" Max asked and squinted his eyes at David.
"Well I love working with kids, but I also love nature. So it's a win-win on my part." David hit the gas and sped off.
"But why at a camp like Camp Campbell?" Max continued to press on. "All we do is cause chaos."
David chuckled. "Well I attended Camp Campbell as a kid. I loved the place because I could do pretty much whatever I wanted and not get yelled at. And I've told you before, I want the campers to experience as much freedom that I had at Camp Campbell." He paused for a moment. "And there's not a lot of people who would let you get away with the things you get away with."
That shut Max up and gave him a moment to think.
"David..?" Max said quietly.
"Yes, Max?" David's enthusiasm was gone as he glanced over at the kid.
"Y-You know what-" Max rested his head on the door.
"Never mind. Forget I said anything."
