"Chess is 99.9% tactics" while tactics are a huge part of chess i disagree with this. Chess is actually more like 70% tactics in my opinion. You must also learn basic endgames positional understanding, and follow the opening principles (as stated in my short article "the importance of following the opening principles" in case you want to check it out)
