Emmi's P.O.V

I've been going to school for a couple weeks. My dad told the teacher about me struggling in school. Dad's been helping me a lot with my homework, it's kinda helping, except at school, I still can't focus, or pay attention, I always space off.

I haven't been able to sit still. I love afternoon break, I can just run and jump around all I want.

Today there was a strange man in the class, he had a clip board and pen, he was watching us as we worked. The teacher never said one thing about him. I did my best to pay attention and focus, but I couldn't help it, I found myself staring out the window, or playing with my pencil.

It was finally time for afternoon break. We all put our jumpers on and went outside. I was crawling in a tunnel thing, when I butt heads with someone. I looked up and saw Luke. He smiled at me then leaned in and kissed me.

"Why did you do that?" I asked.

"Do what?" He asked.

"Kiss me," I said in a duh tone.

"I wanted to." He said.

"Oh," I said.

"Did you not like it?" He asked.

"I don't know." I shrugged. "I think I did." He smiled an one hundred watt smile.

I climbed out of the tunnel.

"You kissed Luke?" Sydney asked me.

"He kissed me." I corrected.

"Did you like it?" She asked.

"I don't know." I shrugged.

How am I supposed to know? I have nothing to judge off of. I'm five.

"No! Emmi, you've got boy koodies." Sydney whispered.

"Don't tell anyone, okay?" I asked.

"Your secret is safe with me, Ems." She said.

"Good,"

I got home from school and went into the kitchen to do my homework.

"So you like Luke?" Tommy asked me.

"No!" I said, making a disgusted face.

"I heard you guys kissed." Lilly said.

"What?" Eleanor asked, letting out a laugh.

"Emmi kissed a boy on the playground." Lilly said.

"He kissed me!"

"But you liked it!" Tommy teased.

"No, I didn't!" I defended.

Tommy starting making kissy faces. I covered up my face.

"Alright kids, do your homework." Eleanor told us.

I started doing my spelling. Walk or is it Malk? This is so confusing! Bog, dog. All these letters are confusing!

Let's just do maths. two plus three equals- what way does the five go again? Ugh!

Let's just read. Sally walked the dog. Sally walked the dog all around town.

Wait, what's going on? Sally did what? Wait, Sally, or is it is Sara? Why is homework so hard? I give up! I put my homework back in my backpack.

The weird man was in our class everyday. It was starting to creep me out. When I asked dad, he said he was watching the teacher, making sure she was teaching correctly. Well, our teacher must be doing something wrong, because he's writing stuff on his clipboard thing all the time.
