Emmi's P.O.V

I sit up against my door, listening to Eleanor and dad scream at each other from downstairs.

"She's tearing you apart!" Eleanor yelled, way too loudly.

"No, she isn't! She's my daughter, Eleanor!" Dad yells, also being way too loud.

"You need to fix the way you're raising her now, or you're going to have massive trouble with her in the future!" Eleanor lectures.

This is all my fault. When I got here they were super happy and cuddly all the time, not as much as Uncle Harry and Aunt Elizabeth, but you know? Now they aren't, they rarely say nice things to each other, they are always pointing out the flaws in each other.

"What happened to we or us?" Dad asked.

"I don't know! All I know is I'm not having Tommy and Lilly live with this!" Eleanor growls.

"You can't take our kids, I'm their father!" Dad yells at her.

This had to stop right now! I swing open my door and run downstairs.

"Stop!" I yell.

They turned to me, surprised.

"Emmi, you should be sleeping." Eleanor breathes out.

"How can I be asleep when you guys are fighting? Not to mention it's all my fault!" I yell.

"Emmi," Dad says, softly, Eleanor exchanges a dirty look to him.

"You can't take Lilly and Tommy." I tell Eleanor, looking her straight in the eyes. "My dad is a good father, he doesn't deserve to have his kids taken away."

A tear rolls down my cheek. I swipe it away. Stay strong. They were speechless.

"Just please stop fighting and be the happy couple you guys were when I came here."

"Things have changed." Dad told me, quietly.

"Yeah, I came! I've destroyed everything! You guys were a picture perfect family! Then I came and now the picture is torn!" I cry.

"Don't cry." Dad told me, calmly.

There was a lack of comfort in his voice.

"You just don't know how it feels to be the problem when it comes to everything, I screw up loads of things, but screwing up a marriage, will be the worst one yet." I told him, looking in his eyes.

"You're not screwing up our marriage." Dad assured me.

"It's come to other things." Eleanor said. "So, just let the adults handle it."

"You need to get to bed, you've got school tomorrow." Dad said, kissing my forehead.

I waited for Eleanor to kiss my forehead as well, but she didn't move.

"Goodnight," I sighed.

Just like every morning, I put my school uniform on. I can't forget my nerd glasses either. I walked downstairs.

There wasn't breakfast sat out like there usually was. See? I have ruined everything. Tommy and Lilly came downstairs. Lilly yawned.

"How much sleep did you get last night?" Tommy directly asked Lilly.

"Not enough." Lilly sighed, yawning again.

I felt guilt rush through my veins.

"Same, how do you sleep with all the screaming going on?" Tommy asked.

Neither of them looked at me, not even a glance. This is horrible! I grabbed an apple and munched it up quickly.

I went upstairs and brushed my teeth. I brushed through my hair, leaving it down, I feel too horrible to ask Eleanor to fix it for me.

Dad and Eleanor walk out of the hallway, grumbling things to each other.

"Good morning, Emmi." Dad said, half smiling.

"Morning," I returned his gesture.

I felt bad to be in my cheerful mode, like most of the time. It didn't feel right.

Dad took me to school, while Eleanor took Tommy and Lilly to school in a different car.

What else could possibly go wrong? I don't know, but I feel like I'm forgetting something very important. Hm.

"Sydney run!" I yelled, tripping Lilly.

Lilly fell and I ran away.

We were at afternoon break, playing a good game of tag.

"Thanks for saving my butt." Sydney said, catching her breath.

"That's what best friends are for." I told her, smiling.

"Yeah, we better run before Lilly finds us."

We both ran in different directions.

Then this mean girl, Brittany, walked up to me.

"I saw you tripped Lilly." Brittany squinted her eyes real small at me.

"Good for you." I replied.

Lilly walked up, looking proud of herself.

"The teacher wants to see you." She grinned.

"You're such a snitch!" I shouted, angrily.

"Hey, leave her alone!" Brittany said, slightly shoving me.

I used my full force and shoved Brittany on the ground, she fell back and hit her head on a metal pole. She immediately stared bawling.

"Tsk tsk Brittany, you shouldn't pick a fight that you can't win." I said, smirking.

With that I ran off playing, not even seeing the teacher.
