Chapter 42: Sealed Again
Chandni's P.O.V
I just entered Advay's house, my body tired of the eventful day. Advay insisted me to stay at his house and then he would drop me off tomorrow to the haveli, which had me becoming sad just at the thought. As much as I wanted to stay, I couldn't, the kids at the haveli need me and Advay needs to finish his business. I don't know where our story will take us, but the thought of leaving him again set me on edge.
Walking on soft feet towards the couch, my eyes went wide when I looked at the patio door. Advay was walking over to the kitchen as I started walking over to the patio door to investigate if my plants and vegetable had died. It was dark so I turned on the light beside the door before sliding the door open.
Much to my utter shock, the flowers were blossoming everywhere with vegetables as well, the area in the middle was clear with grass and a small mat lying there that looked like someone laid on it.
Smiling widely, I stepped amidst the garden and giggled for the first time in my life when I saw tomatoes lying around on the grass, creeping over, I grabbed six small tomatoes that fell off their places in replace of new green ones beginning to grow.
I just sat there on my knees as I handpicked the tomatoes that I thought were ready and placed them in the long hem of my shirt, then I walked back inside the house, closing the door after me before going towards the kitchen.
Another surprise waited there and I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Advay stood in the middle of the kitchen with his suit still on, his shoes clicking against the floor as he brewed something in a pot, when I looked inside, I sighed happily at the amazing aroma. "What are you making?"
"I've been living off of stew for a long while," he shrugged, rubbing his hand against his forehead as he stirred the pot.
"Well," I started, showing him the tomatoes, "I handpicked some tomatoes from our... I mean... The garden I planted, here," I bit my lip as I looked for the right words and Advay caught my awkwardness when he took the tomatoes from me and placed them on the counter.
"Our garden, Chandni," Advay said lowly, getting a knife from behind him to chop the tomatoes before throwing them in the pot. "You thought I wouldn't care about our garden?" He asked me as he placed a lid over the pot, and I stiffened under his small glare.
"What was I supposed to think?" I looked away.
"Yeah, you probably thought I forgot all about you," Advay began to say, walking around me to open a cabinet. I watched him with intent as he took out a box of cocoa powder. "But I didn't. Every day I remembered you while laying down in the middle of the garden, it was my personal calming spot where I always sat and thought of you."
"W-What did you think about... about me?" I asked him curiously, and he stopped in the process of opening the box.
"A lot of things that I could've said," he said with a heavy sigh, "What I still can say but, I won't," he murmured, and I knew what he was talking about. An apology. Then Advay looked at me, "Whenever I came home, I imagined you running down the stairs again and into my arms," he smiled, making me frown deeply.
"And that's what happened," I whispered, making him smile sadly, "But not here, it was back at the haveli. I did not know it would be you. I thought it was someone else."
Advay narrowed his eyes at me, "Who did you think it could've been?"
I stiffened, my eyes going wide as I quickly turned away from him. "I d-don't know!"
