Chapter 38: Monsoon [Part 2]
Chandni's P.O.V
Although I wanted to look away, my mind refused to. Or was it my heart that confused me because it wouldn't stop beating loudly. "Advay, you can let me go now," I murmured softly.
"You are hurt," he continued to stare into my eyes as I tried to find a way to step out of our trance, not even my words did the trick this time.
"I'm fine now, you must be tired," I stumbled over my words as my fingers almost slipped off his wet neck but I grasped tighter, unknowingly bringing my face closer to his.
"Chandni..." Advay trailed off and smiled, "I'm not tired."
I felt my eyebrows creased in confusion, then I chuckled, "That's a lie."
There was no laughter in his eyes or any sarcasm when he spoke again, "I'm not lying," he said sternly but with passion seeping through his eyes, "I can hold you like this forever, I will never get tired," I felt his hands instinctively tighten around my knees and waist.
When I continued to stare into his eyes, I noticed how serious he was as his jaw ticked and he tried to get a point across, so I nodded my head slowly without even knowing.
I felt my chest rise and fall heavily as Advay just stood on his spot with me in his arms, so I finally whispered, "Please let me down."
He sighed heavily before he started taking steps forward, tightening my hold around him, I turned my head to see the bed come into view. Advay gently placed me on the bed and I held on to his back for support as I sat down, my eyes never leaving his face when he sneaked his arm out from under my knees and back.
My legs were dangling over the bed as I sat up straight on the edge when Advay began to turn around is when I felt a tug on my hair and I winced softly, he turned around instantly and I noticed a long strand of my hair to be stuck on his watch. It felt like the universe was giving us signals, tying us together by some funny mishaps, but they were not mishaps, they were just elements of fate.
I reached out my hand to take the strand out but he held up a hand and began to carefully pull on the hair, he was so intently focused on what he was doing that I sneaked a smile softly at his pout that he made. I couldn't help but think that tonight I did not let our horrible memories from the past affect our moments, there was just a constant buzz at the corner of my mind that I ignored gladly.
If we just ignore the sad times and focus on our present, then life would be so much easier. So tonight, I just let my mind wander to our happiest times and made my hands unclench for today.
Even if I denied my feelings and tried to limit these moments between us, it would be no use, because God keeps uniting us back together in such tragic ways that it always left me startled.
Advay suddenly sat down beside me and I noticed that the hair was still not out from the watch, so I chuckled and reached out a hand, brushing against his fingers in the process, and then I easily pulled out the remaining strands out from his watch. Same golden watch. "Why?" I asked him finally, pointing to the watch. "Why are you always wearing this?"
Advay pulled his hand away from my sight, placing it beside him, and looked straight ahead.
Scowling, I exclaimed, "Advay!" I grabbed the same wrist by reaching across his lap but he only inched his hand off the bed and in the air, making my clumsy form hit against his chest. He fell back on the bed and I fell on top of him, my eyes wide with surprise as I realized we were in an uncomfortable position. "S-sorry," I apologized and placed my hands on either side of his face so I could push myself off of him, but then I felt his arm secure around my waist, making me freeze in my spot.
