-Piper's Point of View-
I open the bathroom door and walk in. I had only moved into this apartment a day or so ago, and moving and unpacking can be stressful, so, I decided to take a nice shower. I undress and step in, but not before putting on my music playlist of old 90's/00's songs. As I begin, I hear music coming from the other side of the wall. I guess these walls are super thin. Great. I shake my head as my neighbor turns on their shower as well. I was my hair, listening to the music coming from both sides of the wall, creating a bad remix of "Bye Bye Bye" and "Get Ur Freak On." As I rinse the last of the conditioner out of my hair, the next song starts to play. I stop and listen closely, waiting to see what would come from the other side of the wall.
To my surprise, our playlists sync up and I hear "No Air" by Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks start playing. I stifle a laugh as I hear a man groan. I start singing, I love this song. It brings back so many memories. "If I should die before I wake..."
-Garrett's Point of View-
I laughed as I started my music before hopping in the shower. I didn't know who my new neighbor was since we hadn't met yet, but they have great taste in music. I listen to our awesome new remix of NSYNC* and Missy Elliot as I clean my body. As I finish rinsing off, I hear "No Air" come on the Spotify playlist I had chosen. I reach out to change it. I know the words but I'm not a huge fan of the song. I groan as I see that I'm out of skips. And then I notice my neighbor's playlist is playing the exact same song. A beautiful female voice comes through the wall, singing along with the songs. I smile. If I can't change the song, maybe we can have a little fun. It IS a duet after all... I hear her finishing the first part of the song and decide to sing the Chris Brown part coming next, as I start to wash my hair.
-Piper's Point of View-
I jump as I hear the man on the other side of the wall join in and sing the next part. "I'm here alone didn't wanna leave..." I smile as I listen to him. He has an amazing voice. He continues singing. "My heart won't move, it's incomplete..." I'm living the dream that 2008 me always wanted, I laugh to myself. "Wish there was a way that I could make you understand..."
We finish the song, belting out each verse. I felt like a popstar and I loved it. When the song was finished, we both turned off our showers. I tapped the wall lightly and spoke. "That was great!" I laugh.
"Yeah! You have a great voice!" He compliments.
"You do too! I'm Piper by the way."
"Nice to meet you Piper, I'm Garrett. Have a good rest of your night, and welcome to the building," He answers cheerfully.
"Thanks," I laugh. "You have a good night too. Maybe we can have another impromptu shower concert again soon" I smirk.
"I'd like that," I hear a faint laugh from the other side of the wall. "Goodnight Piper."
"Goodnight Garrett." I smile and get out of the shower, leaving the bathroom
