Mary's P.O.V
"come on guys - you've told me your father was Dracula...how bad can it be to tell me who her Mother is" I said
"I can't" Lana said looking down at her wrist, she put her hand around it, sighed and then looked back to me. I looked to Gab, she was the only one that could tell me.
"I - I - I don't know" she said looking to Lana
"it's up to you Gab" Lana said crossing her arms.
"okay I'll make it easy for you...you don't have to tell me Gab, but you should get back to Ravenclaw dorms" I said
"alright" Gab said with a nod
I opened the door and Gab left without looking back, I looked to Lana she frowned at me and her arms were still crossed.
"I'm glad she didn't tell you" Lana said with a smirk
"and why may I ask?" I said
"because if Gab told you, you would tell Dany" Lana said
"and so what if Dany knows?" I asked "the only person your hurting in the end is her"
"she can't know who her mother is" Lana said
"why, why can't she know! If I had a sister I would want her to tell me who my mother is" I snapped
"Don't you think I haven't thought about telling her, every single day, I have wanted her to know for so long...even though I would died...because of my unbreakable vow" she said
"you have an unbreakable vow...what? with her Mother?" I asked
"yes, I can tell anyone just not Dany" Lana said
"why did she want to keep her identity a secret from her daughter?" I asked - all of this was a bit confusing.
"I can't even begin to explain how messed up our family tree is" Lana said with a smile on her face, but there were tears in her red eyes.
I walked closer to Lana - she looked so scared - I brought my arms around her, realizing how small she was, how she fit under my chin. I smiled
"it's going to be okay...you don't have to tell me...I don't mind" I said as she put her pale arms around me. She was like a little sister to me, even though she was a bit older than me. Just by a few hundred years.
Lana started to cry into my shoulder,
"hey it's okay" I said
"her mother is a vampire too" Lana cried
I broke the hug and put my hands on Lana's shoulders "what" I said kind of shaking her.
"her mother is a vampire too"
"but that would make her a full vampire...not half" I said
"yes" Lana nodded
"then how come she doesn't burn in the sun" I said
"that is just a myth" Lana said shaking her head at me.
"is that why her eyes are purple and not red?" I asked
"yes...she is a full vampire" Lana said
"well, I don't know much about full vampires" I said crossing my arms.
"well maybe you should study up" Lana smirked
"well maybe I will" I smiled back.
"no really you should...no joke" Lana said handing a me a small handbook, I looked at it.
"these are just my notes on the subject...if you want more...maybe you should talk to your unlce" she said and then left without another word.
I shut the door after Lana left, I looked at the booklet in my hand, I opened it, the handwriting was very neat, I sat down on my bed and started to read some of it.
Dany's P.O.V
I walked the halls until it was dark outside, I was superised that no teachers came along and told me to go to bed. I looked at the letter in my hands, I wanted to throw it away, but a part of me didn't want to let go of it. I sighed.
"aren't you going to open it" I hear Helena's voice echo through out the hallway.
I put the letter back in my pocket.
"what are you scared Riddle" Helena said stepping out of the shadows.
"I'm not scared Darkholme" I snapped back
"then why don't you open it?" she asked
"I don't want to hear anything he has to say, I've done my time with Voldemort, I don't want anymore of my time wasted" I said crossing my arms.
"when will you learn?" Helena said circling around as if I were her prey.
"when will I learn what Darkholme? I don't have all night" I said
"when will you learn that you are the key to all of this!" Helena snapped at me.
"and how am I this so called key?" I asked going to walk away.
Helena grabbed on to my upper arm, "maybe if you open your eyes you'll find out all the secrets that everyone is keeping from you" she said and then let go of my arm. I glared at her and she glared right back at me.
We walked back to the Slytherin common room without another word, the only time we spoke again was when I turned off the light.
"goodnight" she said
"night" I said and that was the first time I saw deep into her eyes, they where not red, or purple - like mine - they where golden, and they reminded me of Lupin's eyes.
Mary's P.O.V
I don't remember falling asleep, but I woke up scared I sat up in bed. I still had the book Lana gave me, and suddenly everything from last night came back to me. A part of me wished it was a dream...but is wasn't. I put the book under my pillow (hopefully no one would find it there) I got changed and then headed off to breakfast. I ran into Dany on my way out of the Slytherin common room, things where still a bit weird between us - I wished it wasn't though - but no matter how hard I wished that it would never come true.
"morning" she smiled
"morning" I said faking a smile, she looked tired and a bit of a mess.
We walked to the Great hall together, some people from the other schools where there, the older students where putting their names into the goblet of fire, I was old enough, but I didn't see the point of putting my name in if I was most likely going to died.
"are you okay?" I asked Dany
"yeah fine" she said
"you don't seem fine" I said
"well you wouldn't be fine if you go this" she pulling a unopened letter out of her pocket,
"what is it?" I asked
"It's a letter from my father" she said with a very fake smile, but this was the part where I was confused though - did she mean Voldemort or Dracula.
"that bald freak thinks he can mess around my life whenever he wants" she said
okay it's voldemort then I thought to myself.
"I wish I could say I understood but I really don't" I said, Dany laughed - it was nice to hear her laugh after all the times she had a frown on her face, after all the times I could never make her laugh.
"so are you going to put your name in?" I asked looking over towards the goblet of fire
"no, it's not really my thing" I said taking a slip of my coffee.
"how do you know if you've never tried?" Dany said with a smirk on her face.
I just shook my head - she was just being her weird self, the same Dany, that I had met on her first day at Hogwarts 3 years ago, the same Dany that was always right no matter what and the same Dany that I would always love.
