London, Frazier Street; a young boy is making his way to Leak Street to walk to the Jubilee Gardens Park. There he was supposed to meet a friend of his father, who will be his professor in the art of magic. The 14 year-old boy has blonde hair which comes along with jade coloured eyes. One thing that stood out were his eyebrows. They were thicker than the average eyebrow. It runs in the family...
Anyway, he had an old light brown golf cap on his head since his father insisted. The young boy was equipped with a matching bag, in which books for today's matter were prepared.
The name of the british boy is Arthur Kirkland.
Magic in this world is different than the magic books have tried to describe. Here magic was a force 3% of the population could feel and actually can control. There are, what the "wizards" like to call them, the diligents. They are called that because no matter how 'diligent' they become, they will never accomplish the goal of even feeling a tiny bit of that force.
Of those 3% the majority can only feel the force. It feels like a soft breeze for some, but it can also be a nagging feeling you have in your guts. Most of those who are allowed to feel the magic have incredible reflexes and senses. Yet, there are people whose blessing turned into curse, bringing them to the brim of insanety or if not, have completly swallowed them. Some don't realize what they are given and see it as 'luck'. Those are called obtainers.
Then there are people like Arthur, who have the honour to have been allowed from the force, to gain control over it. Those are rarely called wizards or witches, they are more likely to be referred as guardians.
At the moment, Arthur was passing a shop called "Slug & Lettuce" when he remembered he had forgotten to ask his father for a photo of the man and soon to be professor. Cursing under his breath, the Brit quickly messaged his father of the issue. He continued his journey, thinking of what he might learn. His father was not the greatest guardian, but he was not really bad either. Sadly, because of his injuried leg he was forced to work like one of the diligents. He is only able to do simple things with magic.
His mother, on the other hand, was a diligent from the beginning, so is her part of the family. Diligents aren't supposed to know, but his mother was already pregnant with him, when it got to the highest members of guardians. What a lovely story of his parents, isn't it?
Back to the young Kirkland, who has already arrived at the entrance of the park, is waiting for the reply of his father. "He is always in his office all the bloody day. Why isn't he replying...," Arthur mumbled out in irritation. Looking to the time his phone displayed, he is getting nervous. It is 12:54 am and he is supposed to meet him at 1 pm. Arthur has always liked to be polite and to be a bit like the stereotypical british gentleman, although sometimes he can't control his anger.
The sound of his phone brought him back to reality to see the message his father has sent:
" find a tree with a heart carved in it which says "J+E" "
A second message was sent:
" run at full speed straight at it :)"
"What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?!" Arthur said out loud, gaining a few glances from people near by. Sighing with heated cheeks, he made his way to search for a tree like his father said. After scanning a few trees, he had found the one his father had described so amazingly. Now, he had to run straight into the tree. "I swear to god, father. If this is one of your jokes, I'm going to...," Arthur let out a frustrated sigh.
He went a few steps back, cheking if there was anyone and began to run straight at it with closed eyes. The 14 year-old boy was ready to feel the impact, but it never came, so he opened his eyes. As he did, he tripped over the carpet and fell flat on his face after letting out a small scream.
