Arthur arrived in time at his prof's home or rather at his prof's tree. He looked around the park, seeing families having their fun. He smiled a little when seeing a child laughing along with another one. Just in this moment, a hand came out of the tree and to the view of Arthur, "What the--?" It mentioned in sign language for him to come in. Then the hand was gone and the blonde was cheking if someone saw this.
Luckly no one witnessed, so Arthur quickly went in. When he was there, he was greeted with the sight of the living room, which was in a mess, and his prof burried in a few books, searching for something. The blonde was slightly hesitant with his response, but he didn't need to responde since his prof did, "Hello, young man. Just sit or something, whatever. I still have to search for something." "Ehm... Okay," Arthur replied a bit confused.
When he sat he asked, "What are you searching, prof?" "I'm searching for a note, having a code on it," James answered, throwing papers out of his sight. "A code? Is it because of where we're going today?" Arthur asked with a raised eyebrow. James shook his head, not sparing the boy a glance, "Not really, it's the code for my safe. There is something I need for today."
The blonde tilted his head slightly to the side, "What is in the safe?" Before James could answer the 14 year-old boy's question, he screamed in joy, "Found you! Heureka!" Arthur flinched at the volume of hs prof's voice. The dark-haired man stood up, quickly walking to his office, where his safe was located. Arthur stood up as well and followed him.
The blonde looked a bit around the room. It was a modern office filled with grey and white furnitures, including a desk made of glas. It was a rather unusual sight, since everything else was left in an old fashioned design.
He looked back at James who has already opened the safe and taken out a folder. Arthur could also make out a photo and a revolver in the safe. Confusion could be seen in his face which James responded to, "Don't worry, I am not planning on using it anytime soon." The older man smiled at the british boy, who did the same.
"Alright," James patted Arthur's shoulder, "let's go." The blonde nodded and so they made their way to Valu-Trac. Before they were completly gone James excused himself again to ask (Y/n) if she wanted something. While Arthur wondered why (Y/n) didn't want to talk more often with him. Is it because she's just too shy? Whatever, there is certainly a time where they find themselves in a nice conversation.
James returned, so they can finally go to the pet shop.
---
A bell rang, signaling the worker that there were costumers. It was an older woman in her later 30s. The red-haired woman greeted them with a smile, "Welcome to our pet shop. Do you search something in particular, sir?" "Well, I wanted to ask how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" James quickly asked. Arthur stared at James as if he had gone crazy, but to his surprise the woman calmly looked at him.
The woman mentioned that they should follow her to the back of the shop. When they were at the back she lead them to a metal door which reads "Only for staff". She opened the door with a grin, "My partner, Noah, is there to help you out. Have a great day!" The british was still confused and followed James, who went in. Arthur closed the door behind him. When he turned around, his eyes widened.
The room was actually a forest of willow trees and in the distance the blonde could make out a lake. Flowers were in several colours covering the meadow of fresh grass. Speechless Arthur observed, seeing a few flying mint bunnies playing among themselves.
James walked slowly forward, "Come on, Arthur. We got to go." Slightly startled, the 14 year-old boy caught up, "How is this possible?" His prof glanced for a oment down at him, "This place had been created with a spell of illusion that is able to make it a place to live in. Diligents would see a normal room." Arthur nodded, asking, "What about obtainers?" "They might see glimpses of the illusion or have the feeling of being in forest like this one," James explained.
"Well, hello there," a voice startled Arthur, while James calmly turned around. The dark-haired man faced the redhead with a friendly smile and a stretched out hand, "Good day, sir. My name is James Anderson. You must be Noah, right?" The younger man nodded, shaking the other man's hand, "Yes, sir. It's my pleasure to meet you. For what kind of creature are you looking for?" James put a hand on Arthur's shoulder, "This boy is going to decide which one."
Noah looked down at Arthur, "Oh, I'm sorry, kid. Do you have one you want already in mind?" The redhead had a nervous smile on his face, feeling guilty for not noticing the 14 year-old. Arthur thought for a moment, "I don't know. How about I just go around to see if one wants to go with me. Is that okay?" "Of course, it is," Noah replied.
They walked around for a bit, stopping when they spotted a couple of unicorns. Arthur steped a bit forward to be stopped by Noah, "Whoa! Wait, kid. Don't go near the unicorns. The might get aggressive." The blonde nodded, continuing the search for a magical pet.
They've arrived at a lake where a capricorn was resting near it. Arthur found this one rather unusual, so he continued the search with James and Noah.
Once again, they've come to a stop, when something flew around them. Arthur's gaze landed on the creature, which happens to be a flying mint bunny. It nuzzled its face into Arthur's. Hiface softened at the action and his cheeks became a shade of pink, asking the flying mint bunny, "Aw, so you like me?" He got so dazed by the being that he forgot that there were other people watching him cuddling wih it.
Noah had a big smile on his face, seeing how happy the boy was, while James was thinking if he should record the scene for Arthur's father or not.
Before James could decide, Noah spoke up, "So you wanna have flying mint bunny?" Arthur came back to reality with a red face of embarrassment. "Ehm.. yes," then a question came to his mind, "Wait, is his name flying mint bunny?" Noah nodded, "Yeah, he doesn't like to be called another name for some reason." "Alright, then we'll take it," James piped in. "Okay then you just have to go back to my coworker," Noah explained. The dark-haired man nodded, so they went with flying mint bunny to the front.
The woman from the beginning smiled at them, "Flying mint bunny... That'll make 200£, please."
Arthur's eyes widened. 200£?!
James casually pulled out 200£ and gave it the woman. "P-Prof, I can't ac-accept you paying so much for m-me," Arthur stuttered out. James patted the blonde's head, making him huff, "Don't worry, I owed your dad a favour." The blonde still felt a little guilty for his prof.
---
The duo went back to the home of the older man to witness the mess James had left earlier this morning. So the next lesson for Arthur was to understand the art of using a dust wiper, a technique used for centuries. Yeah, it was rather boring but that is the least Arthur had to do, although sometimes he would curse silently.
James was putting books back to his shelf as well as Arthur. Then the 14 year-old boy came across a rather unusual book. "Scientia Oblivione Delebitur," was written on the front. It seemed to be latin. Arthur knew a few words in latin, but he has never heard of those. He turned to his prof, who was sitting next to flying mint reading quickly through a book, "Hey, prof. What does this mean?" James shot his head up, closing the book in his hands, startling flying mint bunny a bit.
His eye slightly widened, but not so much that Arthur noticed, "Young man, give me the book please. It is unlikely you will need it anytime." Arthue gave him a confused and a bit suspiciouns look, "Ehm... okay." He gave the book James. The older man sighed, "Don't take it personal. It's a book I need for my job." "I thought being a professoris your job, isn't it?" Arthur asked. James shook his head, "It is, but I don't get paid much, so I took an other job. I work for the state." He didn't really have a choice though.
The blonde nodded, understanding the man's worry. He has a child to take care of and to lose another money income is a big loss. After they've cleaned up the room, James explained Arthur the spells, which are used in duels. With that Arthur was over with today's lesson and went home along with flying mint bunny. He couldn't keep that smile off his face.
