I don't think I ever established a time-frame for this story... oops. I'll fix that in here.

About one week and a half later, Yoongi found himself sitting on the piano bench side by side with Jimin in Jin's home, his fingers comfortably resting in his lap and his eyes trained on the keys.

"Alright, so you know what these black keys are?"

"Yeah, those are for sharps and flats."

"And how do you know which is which?"

"Well- They're sort of the same? I mean, an E flat is the same thing as a D sharp, isn't it? Since the black key is between the D and E."

The blonde man smiled and played a triumphant progression of cords across the piano. "In some cases, yes... For someone with little experience playing piano, you're doing wonderful, Jimin."

Jimin's eyes crinkled up into a proud smile as he proceeded to play a simplified version of chopsticks with each of his index fingers.

"Kiss-ass." A voice scoffed into a mug of tea and both young men turned to give odd looks at Jin.

"Excuse me?" Yoongi raised an eyebrow.

Jin lowered his mug and shrugged. "When I told you that, you snorted and proceeded to ramble on about diatonic semitones and harmonics."

Yoongi turned away, back towards Jin. "Enharmonics." He corrected with a grumble. Jimin, however, found the situation to be rather amusing.

"Yoongi's gonna teach me about all of that someday, won't he?" Jimin hummed and it sent a shock through Yoongi's veins. He was perhaps reading into the statement far too much, but he felt an underlying implication that they would be spending a long time together. Jimin is smart, piano isn't taught in a month. The buzz beneath his skin was an odd feeling. It had years since he had felt such emotions in response to something as simple as one's presence; now that he thought about it, he wasn't sure if he had ever really allowed himself to experience this sort of thing. Emotional investment wasn't exactly a strong suit of Yoongi's in the past. Jimin was definitely a huge exception now.

"Yeah, Yoongi. Won't you?" Jin's taunting voice floated from the back of small living room, immediately killing Yoongi's buzz.

Yoongi got up abruptly from the piano bench and extended a hand to Jimin. "It's getting late. I'm going to walk Jimin home-"

"Already? But he hasn't even gotten to see your cute teddy bear pajamas!" Jin stood up quickly. "Wait here- I'll be right back!" And with that, he rushed out of the living room, mug of tea still in hand.

Yoongi tried to mask the panic on his face with irritation and grabbed Jimin's hand himself. "We need to go before he comes back."

Jimin laughed behind his hand. "Okay, okay." He managed to slide his shoes and jacket on before he was entirely tugged outside of the home.

They stood there for a moment, just staring at each other. Jimin was still laughing a little bit, eyes twinkling beautifully, and Yoongi was a bit red in the face. Personally, he was hoping Jimin would think it was because of the crisp autumn air but he knew deep down that Jimin wouldn't buy that for an excuse.

"Teddy bear pajamas, huh? Mr. Big, Bad, and Professional?" Jimin taunted.

Yoongi huffed. "They were a gift- from Jin, might I add... and whoever said I was professional?"

Jimin shrugged and began to walk forward, Yoongi quickly catching up with him. "You just hold yourself very highly. I swear if I didn't know you, I'd think you were some hot-shot director or something."

Yoongi managed a quiet chuckle. "Yeah. I can... I can see that." He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, his mind mildly setting off alarms to change topics. "Uh- so anyways. Did you have fun tonight?"

"Fun?" Jimin mused. "Are you asking if I had fun listening to your friend ramble about your failed attempt at making snickerdoodles and you constantly grumble about all of his jokes over dinner?"

Yoongi frowned. "Sorry." He looked down at his feet. "That's just how we are, y'know? He teases me, I tease him back, I didn't realize it came off as-"

"Yoongi! I'm kidding." Jimin slapped his arm. "Yes, I had fun. It was nice to finally meet your friend."

Yoongi smiled to himself, keeping his gaze down. "It was nice to finally have you over." He commented. "I like spending time with you."

Jimin bit down on his lower lip, smile growing a bit more. "Yeah? I like spending time with you, too." He unconsciously walked a bit closer to Yoongi's side.

When the two noticed it, they both chalked it up to the fall (soon-to-be-winter) evening temperature.

Yoongi's phone buzzed in the pocket of his coat and he pulled it out to check the message, sighing heavily as he read it.

Namjoon

Managed to dissolve the tabloid dating mess. Be more careful, please.

"What is it?" Jimin frowned, concerned.

Yoongi pocketed his phone. "Just a friend of mine in Daegu getting back to me on-" He trailed off. Jimin didn't know about the tabloids. "-on, um, my ex. She went back to Daegu and is telling everyone that I'm gay."

"Oh." Jimin grimaced. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause any problems for you. I just thought that-"

"Don't apologize." Yoongi shook his head. "I'm not ashamed of it or anything. She's just a piece of dirt about things that don't go her way. If anything, it's just annoying." He put his hands in his pockets. "Besides. I'm bi, there's a difference."

"...Oh." Jimin trailed off. "So... you're open, then?"

Yoongi raised an eyebrow. "I was open with you, wasn't I?"

"Well, yeah, but that was a pressed situation. Are you open with everyone?"

"Yeah, if it comes up." He shrugged. "But I don't think my sexuality is something I should have to make known all of the time, y'know? I like what I like, and other people like what they like. That's just how it is."

Jimin smiled gently. "I wish more people thought like that." He sighed wistfully, and once again they fell into a comfortable silence.

They were the only two people walking on the sidewalk, making the moment that much more peaceful for them. There was less pressure on Yoongi to remain unnoticed (even if he wasn't too well known in other South Korean districts, he could never be too careful).

"When do you go back home?" Jimin suddenly asked, and Yoongi looked at him, momentarily admiring the dancer's side profile.

"December 2nd." Yoongi looked away again. "So, in two weeks."

"Wow." Jimin smiled. "I wish I could take a month long vacation from things." He teased, although Yoongi could sense a hint of underlying sincerity in the words. He couldn't blame him. Everyone, at some time or another, longed for a break away from their schedules.

On the other hand, Yoongi almost didn't realize he was staying in Busan the entire month of November when he booked his return flight to Daegu.

"I can make a recording of the piano piece for you to practice with until you come for the showcase. Is that okay?" Yoongi asked.

Jimin nodded eagerly. "That would be great." He beamed and grabbed Yoongi's hand in his own. "I'm so excited for that, by the way."

"Is that so?" Yoongi smiled.

"Yep. I want to meet all of your friends, and see where you live and work and- is that creepy?" Jimin stopped himself, laughing a little bit.

Yoongi's mind began to set off more alarms but he quickly muted them, choosing instead to fake a smile. "Not at all. I've got to see all of that for you, it's only fair if I show you around my hometown when the time comes." He gave Jimin's hand a gentle squeeze.

Jimin beamed once again, and that made it all worth it for Yoongi. He would need to own up to all of this some time soon, but for now he just wanted to get lost in that smile.

Maybe he already had.
