Numerology, to me, is a fundamental concept in both practising magick and divination. You can incorporate numbers into your spells to add extra intent and meaning. If you get stuck during a divination reading, sometimes analysing the numerology can give you some insight. Numerology isn't often the centre of a witch's work, but it can be a good thing to keep at the back of your mind to call on whenever you need it.

After this part, I will discuss other forms of divination before discussing combinations of numerology with divination (e.g. Tarot and numerology, I Ching and numerology).

Numerology is about the divination of numbers that hold a grid and place in our universe. Everything can be broken down to numbers. Just like everything can be broken down to atoms.

You can break down a name into numbers. A place into numbers, locations, etc. Numbers have been used over and over. As we grow numbers are growing too. Our age has doubled over the century and that has affected numerology in multiple ways as well as other divination. Just like crystals, colours, zodiacs, etc, numbers have their own influences. Zodiacs actually have a number associated to them as do many other forms of divination have numerology in them.

With Numerology there are a lot of aspects to look at and each Numerologist will tell you something a little or if not completely different due to their beliefs.

For example, the Hebrew Numerology does not use the number nine. Just like in Old American buildings that skip thirteen, Japan skips the number four in their old buildings due to superstitions.

Number two is balance. Number three is creating. Number four is building. Number five is connecting. Six is harmonizing. Seven is deepening and number eight is empowering. Lastly, is number nine which is understanding.

One is known for the beginning, potentials, and initiative. One is also associated with courage, energy, positivity. One is the beginning; one is the flash of energy as the other numbers will create more from. Number one is known for the traits of dynamism, initiative, independent, positive outlook, uniqueness, courage, leadership. Other traits associated with it are self-absorption, isolation, loneliness, pride, arrogance, impatience, wilfulness, and OCD.

Two comes with balance. Number Two shows self-awareness. As well as awareness of others.  Two is about relationships. Two is being a contrast of another. Two is known for the traits of cooperative, consideration, charming, diplomatic, kind, loving, sensitive, feelings. Two is also known for over dependency, shy, and critical.

Three is where we come to find a new form. From One Dimension to Two Dimension comes three.  Three is a very important number and that shows off in many of the pagan practices. Such as divination reading of the past, present and future. Trinity is very popular in many religions. Three shows off the ability to adapt (changing from maiden, mother, crone.). Three is expressive and sociable. Three can also be superficial, trivial, and immature.

Four: length, height, breadth and time. Fire, water, earth, air. Solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. Four is stability; think of chairs and tables, they are usually held together by four. The compass. Four seasons. In old culture of Japan, if there were four seats and one of them is not taken they offer it to the dead. Because in Japan mythos four is associated with the dead. Four can also be over cautious, controlling and strict.

Five is associated in making things happen. It has equal rights with the Western and Eastern elements. Only thing different is the wood and metal. It's the same with the Chinese zodiac too, some animals have medal or wood instead of air or spirit. The reason they do not use air is because air is too important. It is spirit and it seen in between all the elements. Five is a very serious number in Feng Shui due to its elemental connection. Five is a very magical number. Five is also a very adaptable number just like three. It is a clear number and has lots of movement. Free spirited is also associated with this number. Five can be unpredictable at times. It can be seen as restless or irresponsible.
