Ah Anteiku~

My favourite coffee shop, I've been visiting here to read my books in peace for a whole year now, it all flew by so quick, I don't know what I'd do without this place. I love how this place is ghoul and human friendly, it means my kind is welcome here to chat and become friends!

I take in the scent of fresh coffee beans as I peacefully walk through the door of the quiet, secluded cafe. I walk to the counter to order my regular drink, a piccolo latte. I wouldn't be able to stand the substance if it was served any different than Anteiku's. I guess that's just the magic of this place.

"Well hello (y/n), Welcome back! A piccolo latte like usual today?" A friendly voice speaks.

I look up to see my favourite elder, Yoshimura. He had a warm, welcoming smile on his wrinkly, yet untouched face. I couldn't help but return a slight giggle accompanied by a happy smile.

"Yes please! It's hard to believe a year ago I wouldn't dare drink it, but now I love every coffee you make!" I exclaimed.

Instead of replying he just beamed at me, so I sat down in a stall with 'The Fault In Our Stars' in my hand and buried myself in the reading material treasure. I was taken out of my trance when a beautiful young lady gently tapped my shoulder.

"Hello, Do you mind if I take a seat here?" She asked in a soft, harmonic voice.

I hesitantly looked up from my book to find myself lost for words. All I could do was utter a quick "Uhm, sure" with a shaky nod of my head and look down at my book again. She smiled politely and took a seat next to me. She seemed to be reading the same book as me, This may be a good conversation starter, but I'm not going to question it, it's quite a well known book.

"I couldn't help but notice that you're reading The Fault In Our Stars too, What's your opinion on it?"

And thus started our hour long conversation about the books we've read. The woman's name was Rize Kamishiro and she seemed to be a book worm just like me. She told me about the book genres that peaked her interest, I could share the opinion with horror and novels, but I personally don't find non-fiction that exciting.

Eventually, she had to leave, but she invited me to walk her home if I would like, which I accepted in a heartbeat. Somehow, the topic of ghouls and humans came up, and when it did, I started to panic as we came to a halt in middle of an empty alleyway.

"I never asked you, are you a human or ghoul?" Rize questioned.

To put it briefly, I really liked Rize, she was a beautiful woman and we also had mutual interests. And for that, I put my pride as a ghoul in the trash and lied to her.

"Oh! Uhm, ...I'm human..?"

Her innocent smile instantly turned into a sinister smirk as a Kagune formed behind her. I suddenly realised the consequences for my lie.

There I was cornered by a beautiful ghoul that thought I was human, well this sucked. Guess I'm going to have to defend myself.

I instantly revealed my Kagune from my lower back and got ready to fight. Instead of battling me, Rize looked at me with a alluring expression.

"So, you're a ghoul too huh? Sorry about that, I was just getting peckish, want to catch some prey with me?" She asked with a toothy grin.

I smirk forced it's way onto my face as I nodded my head. And then we spent the night killing humans not only for food, but for fun.

Let's just say that wasn't the only thing that happened that night.

But that's another story for another day....
