Waking up to the sight of my best friend standing in front of me holding out a plate of bacon, eggs and mushrooms, now I could definitely get used to this. "Oh darling Ava, what do I owe this pleasure of breakfast in bed?"
Ava laughed before she handed me the delicious smelling food. "You know exactly why I'm sucking up to you. Don't make this any harder for me Skyler."
I gave her my signature smirk, "I can make this as hard as I want bestie, you trashed my one and only pair of Christian Louboutins remember?"
Ava looked at me sheepishly before throwing her hands up in the air, "come on Skyler, i've told you I was sorry like a million times. I didn't know Brett was going to take me to a music festival. My outfit screamed dinner and drinks not dirt and mud. Those poor shoes didn't stand a chance!"
As I popped a mushroom into my mouth I mumbled under my breath, "you could have bloody taken them off." Ava looked at me and she knew better than to continue her argument. No matter what she said, my beloved heels could not be brought back to life. She started to turn around to leave, "where do you think you're going?"
Sporting her cheeky grin and pearly white teeth, Ava stalked out of my room claiming that we were leaving in 10 minutes. Wait where were we going again?
After demolishing my breakfast, I showered and threw on my black ripped jeans, pink knitted sweater, boots and bag. I found Ava lying on the couch in a nearly matching outfit as me and once she saw me she jumped up and grabbed my hand, "gosh Skyler, what took you so long."
I laughed while raising an eyebrow at her, "like you can talk, you spent hours getting ready for your date last weekend and what, you ended up completely over dressed for a music festival." Ava huffed, ha.
With my car keys in hand, I knew exactly where Ava and I were destined to be on this fine Sunday.
Our Sunday ritual always consisted of a browse at the shops. I halted on my feet when we walked past Chanel, "uh, I so desperately want that bag," I said while my mouth nearly drooled over it.
Making my first impulsive decision of the day I dragged Ava into Chanel with me and $1,000 later I was swinging my Chanel bag around with a wicked smile on my face. "The fashion queen is back in business," Ava exclaimed as she linked her hand with me.
As we walked down the street, my eyes remained glued to the shopfronts we walked past. As we slowed our pace to head to a cafe for a drink, I suddenly felt like someone was watching me. Turning to my left, I saw a dark figure lingering across the street.
Stopping in my tracks, I looked over my shoulder then looked back across the street again. The figure was no where to be seen.
"Uh, that was weird, I thought I saw someone over there," I mumbled as I pointed in the direction of the dark figure.
"Hmm, I see... Absolutely. Nothing," Ava laughed. "You're going crazy girl, it's definitely time for a snack for you. Come on, cake is calling," as Ava all but dragged me into the cafe.
...
Bursting into our apartment, Ava and I dropped our purchases on the floor and both collapsed onto the couch. "Damn shopping is tiring!"
We were both shopping obsessed. Every weekend we would be hitting the shops. Some weekends we bought more than others but it was a must to try on as many fabulous and crazy clothes as we could.
My only big purchase of the day was from Chanel, otherwise I stuck to some cheaper basics from Zara & H&M. I was a sucker for all things clothes.
