Scene 3:
Me: Saturday had arrived at last and as much as i loved home being away seemed very appealing at the moment and with Sam off in school there was an eerily quiet ambience around the house. Aunty Mavis had moved in temporarily to stay with Mum because being alone at this time wasn't the best thing for her, although the woman can watch Africa magic for the entire world.
Aunty Mavis: Vee Vee
Me: i never saw the need for the second "Vee" one should have been enough. Yes Aunty i replied.
Aunty Mavis: Go well my daughter i will take care of Mum, stay well in school and don't think too much of what happened, don't forget your Rosary and morning mass oh...
Mum: yes oh my child, be good and stay safe.
Me: I will. I was off to the airport to board my flight, looking at the house in the rear view mirror and it all came back to me, tears rolled down my eyes... They took Dad away from me... He was gone..
The flight was generally smooth and on time, like clockwork my gang was there to pick me up.
Dolapo: Baby me, good to see you.
Sam: Vee darling welcome back.
Me: i was acting all macho but inside i was so happy to see them, Dolapo had driven her mini cooper to pick me up but unfortunately Vee reloaded had rolled up into town. First of all my matching LV suitcase set wouldn't fit in the car amongst other things.
Dolapo: hmmm, am i seeing very well or is someone joining us for a ride to school??
Me: Go joor, can't a girl upgrade anymore? We laughed and had to hire a cab to drive in front of us and headed towards school, i noticed that for the first time Sam wasn't laughing with us. Was everything ok? We drove up to my off campus apartment and i heard some funny noises from Dolapo and Sam.
Dolapo: Hmmmm
Sam: Hmmm na wa oh!!!
Me: I was wondering what all the rocus was about and then i noticed Dads Range parked in my driveway, innocent our driver had arrived safe the day before to drop it off. I never saw the need to have a car in school, my cab guy Davo was very efficient and had my timetable by heart but it seemed the right thing to do, after all what use will leaving the car at home be?? None whatsoever i thought.
