Chapter 1

Charm sat atop the wooden chair in her room staring at her reflection, in the mirror by her bed. She almost got lost in her own sea blue eyes, and her strawberry blond curls that fell in waves down her back to her waist. Charm smiled into the mirror, revealing a perfect row of pearl white teeth. Her skin was flushed light pink over her cheek bones. She had a sort of unearthly beauty to her. She glanced at her outfit in the mirror. Cowboy boots, demin short shorts, a blue checked top that only just covered her breast exposing her bellybutton ring, and the long strips of fabric attached to the shirt she used to tie her chest in, she also wore a cowboy hat. Her skin was pale white but she had a fantastic farmers' tan. All of her friends wanted the body she had, her wardrobe and her walk in closets.

She approached her brand spankin' new acoustic guitar, knelt on the floor of her room and gazed in amazement at the most amazing birthday present ever. Her mom bought her the guitar for her seventeenth birthday, two months ago, on July, 14. She had squeezed that woman so hard she almost couldn't breathe. When Charm finally let go she started to cry. Her mom then wrapped Charm in her arms and held her until the tears of joy subsided. After that her mother handed her a book of country guitar solos and signed her up for lessons starting when school started on September 10th. Between 4:00pm-5:00pm.

Charm got so distracted staring at her guitar she almost forgot she had to go to the library to study with her friends. She thought about calling to say she wasn't going to make it, then decided against it. She decided to call and say she was going to be late, instead of cancelling. She reached into her pocket and retrieved her phone, quickly dialling her best friend Marissa. Answering on the third ring Marissa's perky voice chimed "Hello."

"Hey, M, how's the studying coming?" I asked trying to be gentle with the fact that I completely forgot to join them. Marissa has been my friend for about 4 years now. We met when my family moved in next door to her. We started getting to know each other on the bus ride to Connie Ridge Middle School.

"Oh... Were doing okay, but I was wondering if you were going to join us or just stay home and staring at your new guitar?" She asked a little upset.
