I was standing at my locker, packing my backpack to go home, when someone tapped my shoulder. I spun around to see a white face staring down at me. "Oh hey Sal, what's up?" I smiled at him. He has my respect after he absolutely destroyed Travis with words. Fucking hilarious. "Nothing much, but I was wondering if you could teach me to skate sometime? I was watching you outside the apartments yesterday and you look pretty good, so I- wait, that sounds super creepy, sorry." His ears turned red and he scratched the back of his neck. "Haha dude you're fine, of course I'll teach you. Meet me at the mailboxes at like 4:20." He gave me a double thumbs up and walked away towards Larry Johnson. I shut my locker and skateboarded home. When I got to my apartment, I killed time by playing my Nintendo 64, the hot new gaming system. (reminder that Sally Face takes place in the nineties lol) As soon as 4:15 rolled rolled around, I jumped up, grabbed my board, and started towards the elevator. When I got there, though, Sally was there too. Somehow I forgot that we live on the same floor. "Oh hey, I know you!" I poked his arm, laughing. He laughed too, and I blushed a little. Hold up. What the fuck? Why am I blushing? I shook it off and stepped into the elevator.

After the lesson, Sal and I decided to go into town and get ice cream. He kept telling me about this place he found with Larry, Apparently, it had the best chocolate ice cream in Nockfell, which we both agreed is the best flavor. As we walked, Sal sneakily took my hand in his. I was a little shook, but gave his hand a squeeze to tell him it was okay. "Oh, there it is." He pointed across the street to a building with a window that had a big menu next to it, and a few tables.

I looked at him skeptically, and he just shrugged. "It's better then it looks." We got in line and chatted while we waited about school and things. Eventually, the conversation got to the topic of the recent death of our math teacher, Mrs. Packerton. I leaned in close and said "'Man, is it bad I don't feel sad about it? She was kind of a bitch, anyway." He laughed dryly. "Oh man, you have no idea." When we got to the window we ordered two chocolate ice creams and a soda to share. As I reached into my pocket to get my wallet, Sal stopped me. "Nah, let me pay for it. As a thank you for the skating lesson." From the way his mask moved, I could tell he was grinning at me. "Ah, okay. But I owe you." He rolled his eyes and put the bills on the counter, telling the cashier to have a nice day. I giggled to myself. What a gentlemen.

As we sat and ate our desserts, we talked more about our lives and I took that as a chance to tell him how legendary his 'nobody likes a cliché bully, Traaaaaaavis' was. He chuckled at that. "You saw that? Did you see what happened after?" I shook my head. "No, I was just passing by." Nodding, he took a deep breath. "So uh, here's the thing. I kinda like you, so if you wanna make this like a regular thing, but romantically, I'm down." My face turned beet red, and I felt a smile creep onto my face. "Oh, yeah, that would be nice. I like you too, Sal." He seemed surprised at that, but I could tell that he was grinning like an idiot at me.

We walked home hand in hand, and when we parted ways I kissed his masked cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow, dude!" I shut the door, squealing like a little girl. "MOM! GUESS WHAT!" "Yes honey?" "I HAVE A BOYFRIEND!" Queue my mom squealing with me.
