Mae was pedaling fast, preparing to go up the steep hill. She was off-roading on her new mountain bike. She had been saving the experiance for her family's annual camping trip. This year, they had gone to Yellowstone and the roads were swarming with people! That's why she was off-roading.

Mark was trying to get away from the clamor of the tourists too, so he decided to take a short walk into the forest behind his family's campsite. As far as his dad knew, Mark was 'looking for firewood.' He stopped short when a girl about his age zoomed past him on a bike.

She was riding at the speed of lightning, a playful gleam in her eyes. Mark was startled, but smiled when she turned around at the top of the hill. She had a cute little face that made you want to just sqeeze her cute cheeks.

Mae finally reached the top of the hill and looked down. What she saw took her breath away.

It wasn't the steep hill or the beauty of the landscape that surprised her. It was the beautiful smile of the cute boy below her. Was he actually smiling at her, or something else? Mae would never know, because that's when she began to go forward.

Her bike seemed to possess a mind of its own as it raced down the steep hill. Mae closed her eyes, knowing that this would not end well. The tire of her bike caught on a root and Mae's small body collided with the ground.

The girl went past Mark in the oppostie direction as before. But when she went past, he noticed that her eyes were closed. He started to run after her, knowing that something was wrong. When she hit the forest floor, he winced but ran up to her and bent down to pick her up. Her leg was bleeding really badly.

Mae whimpered. Her leg hurt really badly. Her eyes were still closed when she felt someone pick her up. She opened her eyes slightly, just enought to see the cute boy. Normally, she would've blushed, but the pain in her leg was distracting her and she was trying hard not to cry. The boy looked concerned.

Mark began to carry the cute girl back to his camp. His mother was a nurse, so he knew that she could help. "Don't worry," he whispered to the girl as he smiled his best smile. The girl nodded just a bit and closed her eyes again while clutching one of his arms.

The boy set Mae down on a bench and called his mother over. His mother came over carrying the medical kit. Within minutes, the boy and his mother had Mae all patched up. "Good as new," the mother chirped before walking away happily. The boy smiled, looking a little nervous. Mae probably looked nervous too, now that it was akward. "Thank you," she whispered.

Mark scratched the back of his neck and nodded. "You're welcome. Couldn't leave a cute girl like you to die, could I?"

Mae giggled. "I'm sure that I would've survived. I'm no damsel in distress."

Mark laughed. "Well, that's good to know! I'm Mark by the way."

"I am Mae. Nice to meet you!" Mae smiled as Mark smiled back at her. She was glad she crashed. Or else she wouldn't have met her first crush.

"Nice to meet you too!" Mark said pleasently. The bike crash was a miricle. It was a crush crash. Because without it, Mark would never have learned the name of the girl he fell in love with at first sight.
