They all continued walking. It's been a good few hours since Felix's little fit, and Changbin still isn't talking to anyone. He is at least 15 steps ahead and everyone doubts he's going to wait up for them anytime soon.

Felix's heart hurts.

How could he have been so dumb?

It was in the heat of the moment and at that moment he wanted nothing except to be rid of this burden. Since the sun is setting now, the heat isn't as intense, and it's let Felix calm down and reflect.

God, Changbin will never forgive him, will he?

Felix starts to feel tears sting his eyes but refuses to let them fall. He has cried plenty since they left the facility and he has no reason to feel sorry for himself right now. It's his own fault that Changbin is mad at him.

He has moved on from wishing he had pulled the trigger to now just wishing that he had never grabbed the gun to begin with.

Jisung was passed out on Minho's shoulders, and he remained that way all up until nightfall. The cold chill of the desert winds shook him back into consciousness. He made sure to whisper a small 'thank you' to Minho's ear. Jisung felt bad that he couldn't walk for himself, he knew for sure Minho's back must be aching badly at this point due to all the extra weight.

Little did Jisung know is that after his 'thank you', Minho had to bite his cheek in order to not smile too obviously. His heart fluttered at the sound. He forgot about the back pain really quickly after that.

"Guys... You see that?" Hyunjin said, pointing at something in the distance.

"It's a light." Jeongin said quietly, as if he wasn't sure which way Hyunjin wanted him to react.

"Which means we need to walk even faster. If it's a raider car, things won't turn out good for us." Seungmin chimed in.

"But what if it's not? What if it's a shop? Or a house? I know they are rare in districts like ours, but it's possible!" Hyunjin said more enthusiastic than he intended. "If it's a shop, they might have medicines, or anything we need really... I say we go to it..." His enthusiasm decreased as he looked at Seungmin's skeptic face mid-sentence.

"I agree with Hyunjin." Jeongin said, shocking everyone. This kid never wants to go to danger... Like ever. "I'm the one who shot Jisung, and I would be racked with guilt if we couldn't get him the proper medicines. So I say we take a risk and see."

"Just throwing it out there, I'm perfectly fine with going somewhere that might possibly have heating." Chan said, shivering.

Seungmin isn't saying anything, and his expression is unreadable.

"Fine. We will go, but just letting you guys know right here right now that this is a huge risk. Is everyone sure that they want to do it?" He says finally.

Everyone nods.

"Then it's settled." Was all Seungmin said before turning in the direction of the light and walking.

They glance at each other before following him.

After quite a bit more of trudging through the sand, they realize that the light they saw was attached to the porch of a small house.

"It's a house." Woojin says softly. "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

"Depends..." Seungmin says shortly.

"I'll go up." Minho says shortly before walking to Changbin and pointing at (the again unconscious) Jisung and Changbin obliges. He holds Jisung under his armpits and knees. Minho stares at him for a second more before trudging up to the door of the house, bravely knocking on the door.

He hears the shuffling of feet followed by the cocking of a gun. He stiffens at first but hears a voice. It was dominant, yet female.

"Who's there?" The woman's voice asked confidently.

"My name is Minho. We have a friend who is really sick and we were wondering if you could offer any hospitality." Minho shouts at the door.

The voice hesitates but responds, "How do you expect me to believe you?"

"You will just have to take my word." He replies calmly.

He hears nothing for a minute before hearing more shuffling of feet and finally the sound of multiple locks being undone.

The woman swings the door open at lightning speed and points the shotgun that she had directly at his face. He stiffens but points at his group. The woman's eyes immediately going to Jisung, lifeless in Changbin's arms.

"Oh my goodness..." She whispers, barely audible. Shake rakes her fingers through her short boyish-like hair as if she's thinking "Okay. Come in." She says finally, moving aside.

He looks at his group, nodding as a hint for them to come, before walking into the house himself.

Once the entire group was inside the lady looked at Jisung. "What happened to him?"

"He was shot." Woojin answers.

"Did you remove the bullet?"

"...no..."

"Oh dear... Okay. Take him to the guest room, first room on the left, I'll whip up an anti-infection cream. Hurry now." She replies.

She turns quickly and goes into the kitchen. Minho follows the others into the guest room.

The room was simple. The bed was slightly small and the room was dim. Probably on purpose, light draws raiders. That doesn't explain her porch light though.

Changbin lies Jisung on the bed. He turns around and makes eye contact with Felix. Changbin could see the desperation in his eyes, but never-the-less tilts his head down walks out of the room.

The lady comes back into the room.

"Okay, I'm going to remove the bullet. Hopefully he can stay knocked out like this while I do it. Boys, cross your fingers that I have a small enough extraction rod." She says was a sigh as she unwraps his bandaging and immediately jabs the rod into his wound, wasting no time just in case Jisung decides it's time to wake up. After a bit of shifting, she squeezes the two ends and clamps on (what she hopes is) the bullet.

She pulls it out and a wide smile forms on her face when she sees the metal that she was hoping for.

That's when Jisung wakes up. He squints at the little bit of light from the room before making eye contact with the lady. She hides the bullet behind her back, it's better if he doesn't know, if he does, the placebo effect will trigger and his leg will hurt more.

"Who are you?" He whispers.

"I'm Amber. Amber Liu." She replies with a smile, stretching her hand out for him to shake.

"I'm Jisung." He replies weakly. Shaking her hand slightly. This makes her chuckle.

"It's very nice to meet you Jisung."

He smiles and nods as a way of returning the compliment.

"Not to be rude, but why am I here... and why are you here?" He asked quietly.

"Well your friend Minho said you needed help. And I guess he got lucky because I have a little brother who gets wrecked up like this quite often. I've learned a few things."

"Oh..." Is all he could say. "Hey Amber... Am I going to die?" Jisung says, but his tone hasn't changed from his previous one. Almost like he knows the answer and has already excepted it.

Amber smiles sadly. "Oh dear sweetie. No. You're not going to die. Because I'm the self-proclaimed best doctor in all of District 9. You have nothing to worry about."

"I hope you're not lying to me. I hope you're right." He says with a cute, toothy smile as he drifts back out of consciousness.

"Jisung?" Chan says, but gets no answer. Looks like he's already out again.

"Amber... You weren't... lying right? Jisung will be okay?" Minho asked with a small frown and worry in his eyes.

"I don't lie sweetheart. Your friend will be fine."
