They climbed out of the cart, it wasn't hard to get out of the shipment yard, there wasn't much security.
They bid their goodbyes to Vernon and Seungkwan, Jisung made sure to tell Seungkwan to say hi to Amber for him.
They were walking through the city streets of District 3. It was odd. Jisung had pictured a nice city with shops and nice people. But that wasn't the case at all...
The streets were dirty, there were women and men crying on their knees over God knows what around the pavement. There were kids that clearly hadn't been fed in a while that were just sitting there.
The shops were clunky and any metal seen was rusted over.
This wasn't at all how the labbies remembered their world...
And it broke Jisung's heart.
Seeing all of this made Jisung think about his mom. It made him think about his sisters. It made him think of the happy, clean home that oddly always spelled of pie.
This wasn't what he imagined.
Why couldn't it all just be the same again?
Seungmin was talking to the group about something about groups of 3 or whatever, Jisung wasn't really listening. Then Minho grabbed his hand before raising his other one.
"I'm with Jisung." He said calmly. Seungmin nodded and motioned for Hyunjin to go with the two.
He should've listened, he tried to gather what they were doing from Minho and it just seemed like they were following Hyunjin as he bought food and ammo.
Hyunjin was busy negotiating with an old merchant when Minho walks off in another direction. Jisung's eyes widened as he looked between Minho and Hyunjin, as if waiting for Hyunjin to say something rather than himself. He looks back at Minho again, but this time spots a man on the side of the road beckoning Minho closer. Jisung's mouth falls open as he runs (or tries) to Minho.
Minho was already talking to the man by the time he was able to get a good pace with his gimpy leg. He finally makes it to the two and jerks Minho away from him. Minho looks at him, almost offended-like.
"What?" He asks, annoyance clear in his tone.
Jisung glares at Minho before smiling awkwardly at the stranger, waving him goodbyes as he hobbles away, dragging Minho with him.
Minho suddenly stops, jerking Jisung back a little. Jisung wouldn't lie, it hurt his leg, but he wasn't going to let it show. Something about being vulnerable in any way while in this area didn't sit right with him.
"What the hell was that for?" Minho said, glaring at Jisung.
Jisung's mouth was gaped open at his question. "What was that for? Let me think, hmm.. so you wouldn't get KIDNAPPED AND KILLED?"
Both of their tones were harsh and their eye contact was murderous.
Minho felt he was just having a friendly conversation with the city people
Jisung felt he had just saved Minho from being sold into sex trafficking.
Yet they both were furious that the other wasn't seeing it from their point of view.
They went back and forth about who was right and who wasn't, just harsher and harsher as they went on.
Then Minho looks to his left, immediately noticing that Hyunjin is gone.
His heart sinks. Jisung is still rambling from beside him but he cuts him off completely.
"Jisung shut up, look. Hyunjin isn't there anymore..." He said, pointing.
