Ymir

There was an intense pounding in my head, my body could barely move. I kept hearing groans beside me, but my eyes had refused to open. I could only remember bits and pieces of what happened before, like the ground collapsing beneath us. Where was Christa?

"Christa?" I yelled out. I needed to know that she was safe. I heard shuffling beside me and then felt a hand on my back.

"Ymir, I'm right here! I'm fine, but you gotta open your eyes." My eyes felt like they were crusted over so it was hard to get them to open. But when I did, I saw Christa kneeling over, tears in her eyes. I groaned as I sat up, my head racking with pain. It was too dark too see where we were, but it was some kind of school.

"Are we in the game?" I asked her while trying to stand on my feet. Trying to stand was hard considering it was hard to balance. Christa stood up with me and let me lean onto her side.

"What game?" She asked with slight concern. What game? I asked myself, not quite sure why I asked that. Maybe I hit my head too hard. I felt something digging into my thigh and I pulled out my wallet from my pocket. I opened it to see money, my id, and a piece of paper. It was shaped like a square, I had pulled half of the middle body. The friendship charm. Where was everyone else?

"Don't you remember? We were at a school festival and we stayed behind to help clean up. But then there was an earthquake and the floor collapsed." My mind suddenly remembered everything that happened. We were at school.

"Right, well let's try and go find everyone else. I would feel so guilty if anyone else had gotten injured. Don't you agree?" I began to walk forward, still leaning onto her side. It seemed to get darker as we continued forward down the hallway. Lockers were lined up to the left of us and windows covered the walls to our right. The sky was invaded by dark clouds that made this place even scarier.

After walking for what felt like a lifetime we came upon a plaque. It was golden and rimmed with dark wood, there were names engraved into the gold. It was something for perfect attendance. One name was Thomas Wagner, but that's when I noticed writing at the top of the plague. It read, Perfect Attendance 1973.

Sasha

My feet had begun to ache after walking around this school for so long. I regretted staying after to clean for the festival. Connie was in front of me, still marching forward, trying to be brave. But I could tell he was still shaken up from falling down through the levels. Drips of blood ran down his leg from a cut he received. I kept asking to see it, but he said it was nothing. I could tell it was something by the way he flinched every time he walked forward.

He was looking for a way out, but I was keeping my eyes out for a nurses office. The air had grown cold and tension was high. It was too dark to see clearly where we were headed, so I was surprised when I saw a sign that pointed to a nurses office.

"Connie this way" I pulled on his arm and dragged him in. I sat him down on one of the beds and began searching through the drawers and cabinets, hoping to find some bandages.

"Sasha, I told you! I'm fine, I just want to find a way out of here" Connie groaned. He tried to get back up but I shot him a glare, telling him not to mess with me. He sighed and then laid back down. I found some peroxide to clean the cut with. I still needed some bandages and cloth, but I couldn't find anything.
