Asuna-
I looked around the room at the players as their body relaxed. I hope that everything goes well, I don't want anyone to get hurt. Kirito came up next to me and pulled me into his side.
"I'm gonna head out to check up on Suguha" He kissed my cheek as I nodded. He had been talking about how he wasn't spending much time with his sister lately. As he headed out he told me to call him if anything happened. I heard him say goodbye to Agil, and then he was gone.
I headed over to the monitors to check on how they were doing. They were in the first stage of the game where the floor was meant to collapse. Some of them looked confused as to where they were, which worried me. The game was programmed to let the players remember that their in a game. They all seemed to be talking when Jean stood up, glaring at Eren. Then he ran at him and pushed him up against the wall.
"Maybe we should send them a message." I suggested to Agil. He had just walked in to see how things were going. He shook his head and let out a chuckle.
"They'll be fine, you know how those two are." I relaxed remembering all the bickering they did. Eren and Jean never seemed to get along well. Then Levi entered the room, looking grim as always. He said something then pushed Jean off of Eren. Just then the room had begun to shake, which meant that the floor was about to fall apart.
They all got under desks, and then returned to the middle of the room to talk. Then the floor disappeared under them. But instead of us seeing them in the school, the screens began to fade out. Then the whole screen went black. Error began flashing red, and a loud siren went off.
"What happened?" I looked to the people who were trying to get the screen back up. Agil came running in and saw what was happening. He began to try to get everything back online. I looked over to my friends to make sure their heart monitors were still beeping. They were all still alive, but what had gone wrong? I dialed Kiritos number, needing him to come back right away.
"Did something happen Asuna?" My heart rate beat faster as I saw that the men couldn't bring back up the monitors.
"When the floor collapsed, the monitors went black! And now it's saying error and there's a siren. Oh god, you need to come back now!" I had begun to panic, scared that we won't be able to get them back out.
"Alright, stay calm. I'll be right over, just make sure their hearts keep going" He hung up. It had been a half an hour of running around and trying to fix everything. We had no way to tell what was happening in the game, or if they were even in the game. Just then Klein burst through the door and quickly shut it. He immediately ran to the computers and tried to get them back up.
"How did this all happen?" Klein muted the computers. "I could hear the noise from the cafe. I didn't want to freak out the customers." I ran and checked on all the players to make sure they were still okay. They all had a steady heart beat so I went over to the computer to help Agil and Klein.
"They entered the game and did the Sachiko charm and everything was fine until the floor opened up. When they fell into the school the screens went blank and the screens read error." I explained to Klein while also trying to find a way back into the game. I jumped when a high pitched noise went off. Klein and I exchanged looks and we knew it wasn't the computers so it had to be...
"The heart monitors!" I ran towards the beds and tried to find the monitor that was going berserk. It was Connie's. "Klein, Agil! It's Connie. Something is wrong with him!" Both Agil and Klein ran over to Connie, but there wasn't much we could do. "What do you think is going on with him?"
"Well he's probably just scared. Something must have spooked him and now his panicking. If he dies we can just ask him what happened when he wakes up, assuming hes dying or near death in the game." Agil said while walking back over to the computer. "Just stay near him in case he gets worse." I sat at the foot of Connie's bed and waited. Loud fast foots steps were coming from the end of the hall way. Finally Kiritos here! Kirito burst through the door just like Klein. He ran over to the computers.
"How did this...?"
"Everything was going fine until they did the charm and fell into the school. That's when the computers went black and it started to say error. Connie's heart rate increased, but that's normal right?" Kirito stood still, his hands resting on the keyboard and his eyes filled with shock. "Hes fine right? If he dies he'll just wake up here and explain to us what went wrong." Kirito was in a daze. "Kirito!" I was cut off by another heart monitor. This time it was Sasha's. Kirito ran over to her and checked the machines.
"Shit! Whats going on?" Klein turned around from the computers.
"Klein and Asuna! You two keep an eye on the players. Agil and I will try our best to get the screens back up and running. We'll fix this okay? They'll be fine." Kirito and Klein changed places and both of their heart rates decreased back to normal. I let out a sigh of relief but still kept and eye on Connie for awhile. If there heart rates were back to normal now, that must mean they're not dying, so what had happened? Had they just been scared?
"I think they're okay now." Kirito didn't respond. "Kirito?" I got up and walked over to the computers. Agil and Kirito were both staring at one screen that was no longer blank. "Did you fix it?" I ran over and looked over his shoulder to see the screen but it was just red writing. My heart skipped a beat when I read the message.
"You no longer have control over your players. I do."
Klein walked over and read the message. "So wait. Does this mean...?"
Kirito interrupted. "They're in the real Heavenly Host Elementary school."
