Artemis Fowl and The Tertiary Dimension (On Hiatus)

{Chappter Two}

Artemis's POV
After school I walk to the Fowl Bentley where Butler awaits my arrival as usual.

How would I tell him about my appointment with Olivine? What excuse would I say? I know my promise to Butler that not a word will I keep from him but must you know this event will never die, ironically, till the day I die or maybe longer.

Now all I hope for is that Foaly, Holly and the LEP wouldn't know about this. My OCD could be triggered by those two's teasing, or my brain could explode.

'Hello Artemis, I hope you had a good time' Butler said, making me snap out of my trance in my thoughts. 'Far from it old friend, but at least now I have time for you and Mother and Father', I said with a sincere smile.

Butler was one who I was grateful for, including my family of course. He protected and cared vastly for me, including risking his years of life just so I could be saved. He was like a much, much older brother I never had. Everything he did for me was something none would do for me, even less if it meant helping to kidnap a creature who should not exist, along with my other adventures, he could have simply said no to me but yet he hadn't, which I'm thankful for or else I'm dead by now.

Now I feel like Orion, of all the nonsense I'm saying. I wonder if I'm actually knight-in-shining armour Orion pretending to be Artemis, or Artemis pretending to be Orion. That too confusing, even for me. Maybe being a smarty- pants was going to my head. Smarty-pants? Actually I'm thinking like Mulch, now I want clay.

'Artemis your being awfully quiet, something wrong? You've been looking at your caviar like it's dirt' Ah I could jump out of this vehicle and eat down to escape. WHAT AM I THINKING? being exposed to much to Mulch might have side-effects. Ugh get a grip Artemis, No, now this is my chance. ' No Butler just that I was thinking of the project Professor Ronald has made us do with a partner' Butler raised his eyebrow, HAS HE FOUND OUT?! He sighed, then said ' Well what do you have to do?'. 'A powerpoint about global warming, due tomorrow'.

Butler tone of voice suddenly changed "that's it? Well surely you can do it by yourself ' he asked. "you know very well Butler that I can", "Yes of course I do, so now all we have to do is ask to rearrange it so you won't have to do it with someone, and if he refuses surely money can persuade him".

I hope this works, oh who am I kidding, of course this will work "No, Butler, Mother has been begging me to get a companion, so now is my chance. Besides, I will do much of the work just to make sure we don't fail" after saying that I felt a lump in my throat. Butler raised his eyebrows, then answered

"who are you and what have you done to Artemis, you have 5 seconds"

he giggled, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "I'm just joking Artemis, you do need to lighten up, come on, tell me the address then we'll head off after,of course, greeting your family."

If Butler will keep this habit of his I might as well become an idiot that tolerate his new sense of humor.
