(A/N: apologies if the story feels rushed in any way. I meant for it to be fast paced like the original. Also, I will be rewriting the tom sequel (aka stuck in a bad situation) probably changing the name and whole plot. Ideas are welcome!)

Jolting awake after yet another nightmare, I tried to control my breathing and erratic heartbeat. After what seemed like a few minutes I managed to calm myself down, yet the feeling of dread washed over me.
"(Y/n)?" The groggy voice of tom asked, he sitting up beside me. I'd forgotten that he was in bed with me, his left shoulder bandaged from the bullet wound from about a week ago. I felt extremely bad that he'd gotten hurt, it was my fault, after all.
"Did I wake you? I'm sorry." My voice was soft, I looking over at him.
"No. No. I've been awake for awhile."
I sighed, running my hand through my hair.
"How's your arm?"
"Fine. I can move it, but it hurts like a bitch sometimes."
"Let me get you some pain meds." I spoke, getting up before he could stop me. I slowly walked in the bathroom, grabbing the medicine and walking to the kitchen to grab water before heading back to the bedroom.
"Thanks, (y/n)." He said quietly and I nodded. We were silent for a moment until Tom spoke up.
"What woke you up?"
"N-nothing."
"It was a nightmare. Wasn't it?"
I sighed, knowing I couldn't lie to Tom.
"(Y/n), you can talk to me, remember? We all saw your future self. And whoever Echo is. She looked exactly like... You."
"Yeah." I said silently, "I don't want to talk about it, okay? There's some stuff that really needs to be left alone."
"Right." He said, putting his hand on my arm. I sighed once again, laying back down. Tom did the same, wrapping his good arm around me, the injured one by his side. Going back to sleep meant dealing with nightmares, but I needed to rest. These past few days have been nothing but stress and anxiety, thanks to Echo actually showing up. Closing my eyes, I immediately fell asleep. Falling into the world of nightmares.

I was in a room covered in darkness, the only light coming from the cracks in the blinds. I sighed, knowing exactly how this was going to happen. I tried to move forward, away from the mirror behind me, but I hears the rustling of chains. Chains that were clasped around my hands and attached to the wooden floor.
"Damn it." I muttered. Okay, this is not the way it was supposed to go. I was usually free to move.
"Hello, (y/n)." The eerie voice of echo said around me, I trying to see where it was coming from.
"We've been through this a million times before. No, I am not giving you control of my body. And just because my psycho future self said yes doesn't mean I will." I said.
"You'll change your mind eventually. When you see what I can do."
"I've been you! I've locked you away!"
"That's cute. 'Locked me away' You can't. And you didn't. And since you 'had control' I couldn't do much. Let me show you what I can do without stupid restrictions!" She yelled, screaming in my head. I covered my ears as the chains lifted, taking me up in the air with them. Then I was thrown across the room into a pile of boxes, papers flying everywhere. My back ached from the impact. The papers around me seemed liked newspapers, but all text was blurry. Instead there was only the word Echo in bold text. I looked up only to be lifted again and thrown into the mirror. The glass around my body shattered, surrounding me. Groaning, I tried standing but the glass cut hand open.
"Shit." I growled, the voice of echo laughing. She then appeared in front of me, smirking. She looked exactly like me, besides the crazy purple eyes. Slowly she walked over, kneeling down in front of me.
"I hope that was enough to convince you. I didn't want to kill you."
"Y-youre crazy!" I yelled. Her laugh resinated throughout the small room and through my head. She then sighed and her hand shot out and grabbed my shirt, lifting me up.
"No. We're Crazy. Accept it."
"Never!"
"It'll be better for you in the long run."
"Why would I ever let you control me? Why would I let you in?!"
"Because, idiot. I'm already here." She said, dropping me.
As soon as I hit the floor I woke up.
Everything ached and I felt a warmth under me. I slowly sat up, but a pain shot through my entire body. I looked around, and I was on the floor of my bedroom, sun illuminating the room. I looked down, a red liquid pooling around me. I slowly sat up, making my way to the bathroom, where I saw my reflection in the full body mirror. Man, I looked awful. My shirt was ripped, blood coming from the cuts in my back and hands. How in the hell did a dream actually cause injuries in real life? I decided to shower, and when the water hit my cuts It caused even more pain. But once I was done I somehow managed to banadge myself up. It wasn't the first time, but it was still hard. Dressing myself in a tee and sweatpants I then went to the kitchen where Sophie and Edd was.
"Hey." I greeted, grabbing a soda from the fridge and joining them at the table.
"Morning sleepyhead. Heard you walking around last night. Sleep okay?"
"Not really" I said.
"I know you really don't like talking about it, but-" Sophie was stopped by Edd.
"Sophie." He said, placing an hand on her arm.
"Anyways, where's Tom?" I asked, eager to change the subject
"At the store with Matt. They'll be back soon." Edd answered.
But his words were muffled due to my brain focusing on something I heard in the living room. Or saw. I stood, ignoring the pain and walked to the living room. The sunlight washed through the windows, yet there were a few shadows. Shadows I thought looked like a person. A hand was on my shoulder, snapping me out of it. I spun around to see edd.
"(Y/n). Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Just... Seeing things." Like the form echo...
Then we heard a car roll up, the brakes squealing.
"About time." Sophie said as the door opened to reveal Tom and Matt, both having very different looks. Matt was carrying grocery bags and tom had a piece of paper crumpled in his hand. Once his eyes met mine, he immediately walked to me and grabbed my wrist, walking us to my room. Once the door slammed shut, I yanked my arm away.
"Nice to see you too. What the hell?"
"We have a problem."
"A problem? What're you-" but he handed me the paper. I uncrumpled it and my heart immediately shot into my throat. It couldn't be...
It was a wanted poster. Of me.
