At first I was confused. Then I realized what he meant. I looked at the paper he handed me.
"Where'd you get this?" I asked.
"It was in tord's stuff. He asked me to throw away all this junk and it was at the top."
"Tord? What does he have to do with this? It was like a year ago! Maybe two."
"Calm down, (y/n). You know what happens if you're emotions get out of control."
"Don't tell me to calm down. Besides. She's sealed away. There's no way-"
"What about the nightmares? That's a sign."
"How the hell did you know about that? How do you know anything about me?" I yelled, A bright flash of green blinded me, and when my vision came back PowerEdd was standing in Sophie's living room.
"Holy shit."
"I knew when I first saw you that you looked familiar. I just didn't say anything because I wasn't sure..."
"Y-you can summon him on command?"
"Yeah. It's not that hard. You're just afraid that if you summon echo you'll get a repeat of two years ago."
"Uh yeah! Do you really want the destruction of another town on your conscience? Not me."
"(Y/n)..."
"Change back before Sophie gets home and sees a damn grown man in a costume in her living room."
"Fine. But at least I'm not edgy looking."
"Oh I'll show you edgy!" I warned, lunging at him but he flew in the air just seconds before I reached him causing me to topple onto the floor.
"Okay, okay enough." He sighed, landing on the ground and changed back. I got up and dusted off my clothes, looking at edd.
"So this was with tord's stuff? Why would he..."
"No idea. He's been acting weird lately. Be careful, okay?"
"Yeah. He was acting a bit weird last nig-" then I stopped myself. I hoped Edd didn't catch that.
"Wait last night? He was gone all night.. ohhh."
Crap.
"(Y/n). Was Tord here?"
"M-maybe."
"Did you two Fu-" but before he could finish his sentence I threw a pillow at him. He took my reaction as a yes. He set the pillow down and facepalmed.
"This had better been the only time. Don't get attached. Especially since he's unpredictable as ever."
I didn't know if I wanted this to be the only time. But I decided to take Edd's advice, because he'd never led me astray once. I sighed. What did I get myself into?
*************
The wind blew my bangs into my face, I pushing them aside for the millionth time. My earbuds blared my favorite song, I humming along to the lyrics. I decided to take a walk, to get away from the house and those boys. I thought about running away again, but it wouldn't do me much good. I'd just end up running again. It was an endless cycle. I was too into my inner musing and didn't realize I ran into someone. I fell, but the stranger caught my arm. I looked up at my Savior, it being a man dressed in a red sweater and black pants. His long brown hair tied in a ponytail. He looked strangly familar.
"Funny running into you here." He said, pulling me up and letting my arm go.
"Literally." I dusted off my shirt. He chuckled.
"You haven't changed a bit, you know. Dr.(L/N) would be happy to know that."
"My father? How do you know him?"
"We... Worked together. I'm Paul."
"That's why you looked familiar. Sorry. It's been over a year."
"Yes. Why did you run? We... Would've helped you."
"We?"
"The red army, of course. Led by-"
"Red leader. Yeah. No thanks. I heard what he did. He is the reason I'm like this! He brought nothing but pain and anguish to my hometown."
"That's funny you say that. Because your opinion on him will change once you meet him. Or find out who he really is."
"I already seen him! Well he ran, but-"
"That was the future red leader."
I was confused, to say the least. He must've seen my face because he sighed and tried to explain.
"Red leader managed to get a time travel device."
"Then... Who did I see in the lab? That was red leader."
"Yes. But it's also someone you know very well."
"Who?" I asked. And let's just say I didn't like his answer.
