(two weeks later)
I've gotten used to living with Sophie, especially since Tom and I started hanging out more often. I was slowly getting to know this strange yet intriguing guy. I also discovered that he played bass, while i played guitar. Most of the time we were playing rock covers of various songs on the roof of Sophie's house. But this particular day was different. I was mindlessly strumming the guitar, Tom tuning his bass, named Susan.
"Hey, (y/n)." Tom said out of nowhere, I looking up at him.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"You um, wanna play somethin?"
"Duh. That's why we're up here." I said, strumming the first few chords of Nothing else matters by Metallica. Tom raised a brown, curious as to how I knew that song, but he began to play along. Soon all was heard in the quiet neighborhood was us two rocking out on the roof of Edd's house.

"Yes!" I cheered as I beat Tom in an arcade game.
"How in the hell?" He asked, looking at the fake gun he held.
"Just talented." I smirked, placing the gun I held back where it was supposed to go.
"Edd! Can we go now?" Matt asked under a pile of stuffed animals, I assumed he won them all in several different claw games.
"I guess so. Unless Tom and (y/n) want some alone time." Edd smirked as I turned red.
"That's a great idea! Let's go, Edd!" Sophie said, grabbing his arm and leading him out. Matt followed, smiling at his collection.
"I guess Matt got more junk." He said, I nodding in return. I then turned back to Tom, he just looking at me.
"Is there something on my face?" I asked. He quickly shook his head.
"It's just weird how quickly you fitted in here." He said. I looked at the screen of the game we were playing, watching the men shoot the zombies.
"Yeah... Weird."
"(Y/n)? You okay?" He asked.
"I'm good. Let's get outta here." I said, walking out. The sun was beating down on us, we both walking side by side. There was silence between the both of us for a few blocks, but soon Tom spoke up.
"So, what made you decide to live on durnam Lane?"
"Whatya mean?" I asked, placing my hands into my Jean pockets.
"I mean everyone's got a story. What's yours?"
"I- I really don't like talking about it."
"Oh come on. The "mysterious past" role has already been filled out by Tord."
"Right. Well get ready to be disappointed because I'm not telling you."
"You're gonna tell me eventually."
"Sure." I sighed, Tom stopping at a I've cream truck parked on the street.
"You want one?" He asked.
"Duh. I'll take (favorite Icecream)."
"Sounds good. I'll take two." Tom said and paid for it, handing me one. We sat on the curb, watching the cars pass. It was silent between the both of us, I looking across the street only to see a familiar shadow staring back. I jumped a bit, realizing who that was. The shadow then stepped into the light just a bit, confirming my suspicions on who it was.
"(Y/n)?" Tom asked, but I ignored him, standing and walking towards the man. But the closer I got, the further away he was. I desperately grabbed at his cloak, pulling it away to reveal his face and red arm.
"Red leader." I whispered. It was impossible. My father's prediction coming true? No..
"(Y/n)!" Tom's voice rang throughout the alleyway, I spinning around to look at him. Then I felt the cloak I held go slack, realizing he got away.
"What the hell?" Tom asked, spinning me around.
"You know about my "mysterious past"? Well he's part of it."

(So sorry this took FOREVER to get out. Writer's block was kicking me in the butt. But it's out! And I will finish this soon. It'll be about 12-13 chapters, along with a rewrite of stuck in a bad situation, the sequel to this one. Ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Author-sama, out!)
