Tira's POV
I looked up as a voice called out my name, and turned to see a few people in front of me.
The one in the front seemed to be a few feet taller then me, and he didn't look very nice.
He have me a once over. "You don't look like much."
I rolled my eyes, mentally. "Thank you," I told him, trying to be nice. "It makes monsters who hunt me more surprised when I beat them."
"As if you beat them," he said smirking.
"Do you doubt me? because I can kill monsters..." I wanted to add, 'and definitely better then you,' but I knew that wouldn't go over well.
He laughed. "Whatever you say, you scrawny little fella."
I smiled, as if it was rolling off my back and not affecting me at all.
"Thanks."
"It looks like you don't really need too much help for this war, if your one of the 'big kids' they sent to defend them. Either that or you guys won't stand a chance."
I tried to come up with a pleasant smile, but it was hard. This kid was a jerk.
"We are hopelessly out numbered," I told his cocky little face. "That's why we are here. We need help, badly."
He laughed and walked away. "Good luck with that scrawny," he yelled over his shoulder.
Looks like he wasn't going to be any help.
I ducked my head, and started walking the other way. I didn't want to talk to Myrtle all that much a more. A nap sounded much better.
But then crowds of kids started walking up to me, and asking me questions as if they were paparazzi, and I was Harry Styles.
"What's it like to be a demigod?"
"Why can't you demigods defend yourself?"
"Do you have magic powers too?"
"Can you fly?"
"Do you guys have wands too?"
"Can I become a demigod?"
"Is the god Dionysus hot? I bet he would be, if he was cool enough to invent wine!"
The last one got me wondering how old these kids really were.
"What are the gods like?"
"Have you met a god?"
"What are monsters like?"
"Oo! How are quests?"
"Are quests really that dangerous?"
I snorted. "Yes, quests are dangerous."
"Yet demigods survive them easily?"
I shook my head, "it hard to survive a quest, but those that do are strong and amazing heroes."
"If they're that great, why are you so weak you can't defend your camp your self?" Someone asked.
I froze. How come we can't face this threat ourselves? Was it really that bad? Who was that bad that we need help to defeat them?!
I needed to talk to the boys. And Astoria. And then, maybe IM Chiron.
I started to hyperventilate.
I needed to get away from all these people.
I turned on my heel, and started walking away, fast.
