First Days

I wake up to my radio alarm and roll over onto my other side.  I do not feel like going to school.  New school = more torture than regular school.  I drag myself out of bed and get dressed.

I trudge downstairs and make myself scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast.  Afterwards, I quickly run up to my room to do my makeup.  I look at myself in the mirror and realize that Aunt Kayla was right:  I am starting to look like my mom.

Gosh, she loved first days of school for me.

I take one last look at myself and head out to catch the bus.

I get off the bus at the high school and make my way to the office to get my schedule.

"Hello, I'm new here and I need a schedule," I speak sweetly to the secretary.

"Name?"

"Elizabeth Greyson."

"Here's you schedule along with your locker number and combination," she informs me as she hands me some papers.

I thank her and quickly make my way to my locker, for I have no desire to be late to my first class on my first day at a new school.  I make it to class just before the bell rang.  I find an empty seat next to a boy with blonde hair and striking blue eyes.
