"I want to go to homecoming with a certain redheaded football player," she said smirking again.
"What?"
"You heard me...I want to go to homecoming with Archie."
"Why? What about Toni?"
"She's going, but with the serpents. I need a piece of arm candy to help promote me for homecoming queen. Archie is the perfect candidate," She stepped a little closer to me "you're going to get him to take me or everyone in school will know your little secret."
"How do you expect me to do that? He's dating Veronica and in case you forgot, she can be about as evil and bitchy as you," I stated sternly.
"Well, I guess you better figure it out," She said turning away from me, her hair swaying behind her as she sashayed away.

I watched Archie and the rest of the Bulldogs as they practiced out on the field. This was the only opportunity I could see that I would be able to talk to him without all of our friends hovering.
I knew this wasn't going to work, and even if it did who's to say Cheryl wouldn't tell everyone anyway. I sighed. As vindictive as she was, she almost always kept her word. I had to at least try.
The team broke out of their final huddle for the day and I was standing against the fence waiting on Archie to walk off the field.
"Hey, y/n. What are you doing here?" He asked confused after he spotted me.
"Oh, I'm just here observing for the blue and gold," I lied "I also needed to talk to you, whenever you have a minute." I said politely.
"Yeah, sure! Just let me go get showered and changed." He said heading towards the field house.
"Great, I'll be here!" I yelled after him.
My nerves were starting to get the better of me and I was suddenly starting to change my mind about all of this. This just doesn't seem right, Veronica is my friend...so is Archie.
I shoved my hands into my jacket pockets making sure it was pulled tight enough around me to shield my body from the cold, Autumn air. I slumped down on the nearby bleachers and waited for Archie.
After what felt like an eternity, he re-emerged from the field house in fresh clothes, his hair still damp from his shower. He looked around searching for me and finally, spotting me, he walked over and sat down beside me.
"So what's up?" He asked concerned.
"I need to ask a favor of you...it's big and I can't really tell you why....but I need you to take Cheryl to homecoming instead of Veronica." I said as I picked at the hole in my jeans.
"Y/n...you know I can't do that. Veronica is my girlfriend," he said shuffling in his seat slightly.
I felt tears forming in the corners of my eyes again.
"Arch, I know, but Cheryl...if you don't do this she's going to-" I stopped myself "never mind, just forget about it, I shouldn't have even asked you. I'm sorry," I said standing up to leave and running down the bleachers. The urge to throw up was creeping up in my stomach again and I just needed to get out of here.
"Y/n! Wait!" I heard Archie yell after me, but I ignored him and just kept on running.

Homecoming is tonight. I didn't get Archie to ask Cheryl so I'm expecting the worst. She could strike at any minute and I needed to be prepared for anything.
I looked at myself in the mirror as my mom curled the last little portion of my hair.
"You look beautiful, honey," she said placing her hands on my shoulders.
