It wasn't long before Veronica fell asleep. This left Sebastian to think. Most people would think that he would pity her, but Sebastian didn't. Knowing this, made her even more spectacular to him.

Not many people can deal with what she's gone through, but she has. It doesn't weaken her, it makes her work harder. She's is the most amazing person he has ever known. What she told him only made him see her as even more remarkable, and strong.

He couldn't help, but look at her. To him she was perfectly beautiful. She was so vulnerable when she was asleep. At training she was always closed up, but in her sleep she was relaxed. Then it hit him that when she was awake she carried the world on her shoulders, but when she was asleep she looked unburdened. That was until the nightmares set in, and when that happened all he wanted to do was hold her. Share that burden, and let her know she's not alone.

The moment she started thrashing around he absentmindedly started stroking her hair. This somehow calmed her. She then went back to a peaceful state.

It wasn't long before Sebastian fell asleep too. His head resting on his arm that laid on the bed. His right hand still intertwined with hers. He somehow felt at peace too.

That morning Sebastian woke to his phone buzzing. The Director was messaging for him to meet with him, right now. There was nothing specific that told him what the meeting would be about. Rage flooded through him like a river.

He casts a long glance at Veronica. His heart softened from the fiery rage that had consumed him when he saw who the message was from. He had the sudden desire to stay here with Veronica. If only the rest of the world would fade away leaving him and Veronica.

When he was with her all if his problems just faded into the background. She made him feel genuinely happy. To him she was like the sun, radiating warmth. He on the other hand felt like he was  space, cold and empty, but she made him warm and complete.

In the back of his mind he had the urge to not go, and stay here with Veronica. This thought made him scared. Sebastian had never cared for anyone, and he always followed orders. Now he cares for her, and he knows he would break any order for her if it made her happy.

He closed his eyes, and took in a deep breath. However, you don't miss meetings with the Director, unless you want a beating. So Sebastian slowly stood up, and gently slides his hand from hers. She groggily looks up at him.

"I have a meeting, but get some sleep okay. Training is cancelled for today," he whispers.

She nods slowly, and closes her eyes. Once she closes her eyes he bends down and gently kisses her forehead. A small smile appears on her face. This puts an even larger smile on his.

He quietly exits her room, and goes to change. As he leaves his room he looks at his phone for the time. It's 5:30 a.m., and he received the message at five. Dread fills him, as he realizes that he's late.

He picks up his pace as he rushes to the Director's office. He arrives with in a few minutes. He takes a deep breath and knocks. He hears a faint answer, and rushes in.

"You're late," the Director demands.

"I apologize sir. It won't happen again," Sebastian apologizes.

"It better not," he says furiously.

"If you don't mind me asking sir," Sebastian starts, "What is this meeting about?"

A sly smile creeps on to the Director's face as he says, "It has come to my attention that you have gotten close to Miss Daldalian. Is that correct?"

"Well we do train together sir, but if your asking if I have feelings for her then no sir I do not," he lies.

The Director looks him over then replies, "Good. You are our best agent, and no matter how important she may seem, it would be a tragedy if something terrible were to happen to her."

"Sir," Sebastian asks rigidly, "What are you saying?"

He smiles a nasty smile, and says, "I'm just saying it's good that you're not too attached. If that were the case, and she became a distraction, I'm afraid she would need to be removed permanently."

Sebastian shivers at the word permanently, "Sir are you telling me to stay away from her?"

"I'm saying I think it would be a shame if she became a distraction," he replies, "Don't you?"

"Of course sir," Sebastian chokes out.

"I'm glad you think so," he replies, "You may go."

Sebastian gets up silently, and exits. Anger floods him as he rethinks the conversation he just had. What was he going to do?
