"We can't go," I say pulling out of his grip.
"What?" He asks incredulously.
"They're are hundreds of innocent people here, we have to warn them," I say.
"Veronica," he demands, "I have to keep you safe."
"First of all you don't have do anything, and why is it you think that it's your job to keep me safe," I reply.
"It's my job because I'm the one that dragged you into this whole mess alright," he says taking a step towards me.
"You didn't drag me in you saved my life, and I came willingly," I say stepping closer to him. "And isn't your job to also protect humans like the ones in this town?"
He takes one final step forward to where we are only a few mere inches apart, "It is, but I will not let you put yourself in danger."
"News flash I'm already in danger," I reply. "So can we stop wasting time, and go save these people so we can all get out safely or do you just want to sit around waiting to get blown to bits?"
"Fine what's the plan boss?" He asks, after a long second of contemplating, then he moves away.
"We need to alert the people," I say grabbing my jacket off a chair and heading towards the door.
"Yes ma'am," I hear him utter as he follows behind.
We walk quickly down the stairs towards the front desk. The lady that stands behind the desk looks up at us from behind her glasses.
"Can I help you with something?" She asks.
"We need to alert the town," Sebastian says seriously.
"If you have any issues you should book an appointment with the mayor," she says looking back to her work.
Anger surges through me at her dismissal, and I slam my hand down on the desk. "Listen here lady, you will tell the mayor to call a meeting for the town and you will do it right now, because if you don't then this whole community will be blown sky high with you along with it. Do you understand me?" I demand.
She only nods in response before she starts typing on her computer. I watch her make a call to the mayor explaining the whole ordeal. She only glances our way a couple of times.
Only minutes later we are meeting the mayor. She is a tall, slim, stern looking woman, with her hair pulled into a tight knot on the top of her head. By the look on her face she isn't happy. She looks like she as a frown tattooed on her face.
"What do you want?" She asks her voice filled with acid.
"You need to evacuate the town," Sebastian says seriously.
"No," she snaps the moment he finished speaking.
"But you haven't heard what we have to say," Sebastian pleads.
"I do not care what yo bratty children have to say," she replies sharply, and she starts to turn and walk away.
Fury courses through me like a flood and I grab her by the wrist and yank her back. She stands there shocked, but I don't give her time to make a rude comment I just start talking, "Look, the Guard is on it's way to bomb this town."
"And how do you know this?" She asks crossly.
"Because we were agents for the Guard," Sebastian replies.
"So how can I trust you then?" The stern lady asks.
"Because we are warning you," I say, "Also, you don't have to in this plan."
