The question isn't "who will let me?"
It's "who's gonna stop me?"The car was parked outside an abandoned warehouse, Cassandra looked around for any sign of the gang members. "This is it?" Cassandra asked, Beth who had the list of directions. All four girls looked at the warehouse before sharing a look. "Are we supposed to knock or something?" Annie asked. Suddenly the garage door began to rattle as it was lifted by two gang members. Beth drove the car into the warehouse slowly, and they all looked around in amassment as two goons lifted the boxes from the back. "Okay." Cassandra breathed in deeply, before exhaling. "Okay."
"Holy mother." Ruby muttered.
"Hang on." Beth said, spotting the eagle-tattoo guy talking to a man in a suit. Cassandra, Annie and Ruby watched as Beth tried to get the guys attention to no prevail. Annie and Ruby shared a look before turning to Cassandra who was excited the car. "Excuse me. Hi. Excuse me." Beth said as Cassandra walked up to her, the men continued talking to each other but Cassandra saw the eagle-tattoo guy's eyes flick to where she and Beth were standing. "Excuse me." Beth tried again. "I just need to know we're good." She said. "No one's gonna show up at my house, no guys, no guns?" Defeated Beth turned away. Cassandra looked at her friend retreating before turning back to face the gang leader. Only then did she noticed the other man had gone. "No, I'm gonna need to hear you say it."
The man smirked, chuckling. "We're good." Cassandra raised her eyebrow but she knew he was being genuine. To celebrate the girls decided to go to a small café. "Can I get you anything else?" The waitress asked.
"Oh, yeah." Annie said. "We're gonna take another round of these pineapple margaritas, please? Extra strong this time."
"And then we also want one of those fried onion things that has, like, the arms that stick out." Annie said. "You know those?"
"Nachos!" Ruby called.
"Yes. Nachos, and, um, uh, the, uh, poppers." Beth said. "Uh, jalapeño poppers."
"Two orders of those, please." Annie added. "She's a lightweight." She said pointing at her sister.
"Are we celebrating today, ladies?" The waitress asked.
"Oh, I would certainly say so." Ruby joked.
"What's the special occasion?" The waitress asked.
"Oh, we just smuggled a bunch of counterfeit money over the Canadian border and escaped a violent street gang." Annie said as Cassandra took a sip of her lemonade. "And no drugs in our butts." She added.
"No drugs in our butts! " Beth cheered.
"Yay! Yay, no drugs in our butts." Annie joked.
"Pretty special, huh?" The waitress asked rhetorically. "I'll put that right in." She added walking away.
"Thank you." Cassandra said.
"Oh, she hates us." Beth laughed.
"No, I think she loves us." Annie joked.Cassandra woke suddenly as she tried to catch her breath, trying to remind her body that she wasn't falling. Sighing loudly she got out of bed known she wouldn't be able to fall asleep for ages. Pulling on a pair of underwear and a tank top she walked downstairs. "Why are you still awake?" Cassandra asked. She asked Beth as the older woman pored herself a glass of liquor. Cassandra walked past her, turning her back and opening the fridge. When she turned around, she almost dropped the jug of juice she was holding. "You know the traditions is Jordans over a phone line, right?" The eagle-tattoo guy said, his eyes trailing over Beth and then Cassandra; the younger girl stared at him, bug-eyed. "What did you do?" She hissed quietly to Beth. The strawberry blonde looked at her, she looked tried and pale but her eyes shined with adventure. Cassandra sighed. The egale-tattoo guy smirked. "So what'd you wanna talk to me about?"
