There's nothing more badass then being who you are

"That is not what I meant when I said we'd do another job." Beth said to the eagle-tattoo guy, Rio. Cassandra jogged on the spot behind Beth, trying to keep herself warm. "Who is that guy?" She asked with innocent curiosity.
"He works for me." Rio said simply.
"Do does he wash the money?" Cassandra wonder out loud, not even registered what she was saying.
"Regardless, there's been a miscommunication." Beth scolded.
"Oh, so you think you can pick and choose what you wanna do and when you wanna do it?" He glanced at Ruby as the blonde stepped forwards. "She thought it would be like driving for Uber." She joked. Cassandra giggled, turning to look at the blonde, missing Rio's eyes flicking from Beth to her for a split second. "Who's at fault is not important." Beth continued. "We are not qualified to take care of a gunshot victim." Beth cried. "I mean, your friend needs professional medical attention."
"You're shaking your head." Cassandra said staring at the attractive gang leader. "Why are you shaking your head?"
"'Cause that kid ain't going to no hospital." Rio said.
"Why not?" Cassandra asked.
"Cause there's people looking for him." Rio said, nonchalantly.
"What if those people show up here?" Beth asked.
"Trust me, ain't nobody gonna shoot up Beaver Cleaver's house." He relied looking at Beth dropping a stack of cash on her porch. "No, I'm sorry, that is not gonna work." Beth said.
"No?" Rio said, dumping more money on the porch.
"I have children." Beth shrieked. Rio dump another stack. "He's up there in my daughter's bed." She said. "I'm never gonna get that blood out." Cassandra gave her a look.
"I mean, she could sleep on the floor." Annie said. "Kids love that stuff."
"I'm pretty sure it'll cover a new mattress." Ruby muttered staring at the money. Cassandra's eyes flicker from the money to Rio; who was smirking at her. "So, would we get that money now, or?" Annie asked.
"When I pick him up." Rio said.
"When's that?" Cassandra questioned.
"When I pick him up." Rio said getting agitated at the four woman.
"Sounds fair." Annie said.
"So, we got a deal, ladies? Or what?" Rio asked.

Cassandra was exhausted. Herself, Beth and Annie had stayed up all night to keep an eye on the guy in Emma's room, Cassandra had cleaned his wound and dressed it as best she could after spending half an hour on Google. Cassandra and Annie leaned against a half awake Beth as they sat at the base of the stairs.

The three didn't even notice that it was the morning until Ruby entered the house, flooding the place with light. "Hey, I brought chili." She said. "Stan made it. It's spicy."
"Thank you." Cassandra said, her legs were numb, and she wobbled as she got up. "I'm so hungry."
"Did you stay up all last night?" Ruby asked, looking at the marks on Cassandra's legs from where the stairs had dug into her tanned skin. "I mean, she stayed up all night." Annie said, pointing at Beth, who had a water gun in her hand. "I slept next to her like a baby."
"Is he still out cold?" Ruby asked.
Beth shook her head. "Um, maybe we need, like, smelling salts or something."
"Right, 'cause it's 1892." Annie scoffed.
"You want him to wake up?" Cassandra yawned.
"I want him to not die in my house." Beth slurred, sleep deprived.

Suddenly there was a loud noise form upstairs, something thumbing on to the wooden floor. The noise shocked the sleep out of the three woman resting on the stairs. "What the—" Ruby began.
Cassandra gasped, her blood running cold. "Oh, my God. His gun." She whispered. "Go get his gun."
"Where is it?" Annie asked, getting up.
"Uh, in the closet." Beth said as they all ran upstairs. "Hurry."
"Okay." Annie said as she and Ruby searched the linen closet as Beth rushed to check on her children. "Where in the linen closet?" Annie called. "Where is it?"
"Top shelf." Beth said.
"There's no gun in here." Annie called. Cassandra walked away, opening Emma's bedroom to check on the wounded guy. "Beth, there's no gun in here." She heard Annie call as she backed up towards the door.
"Found it." Cassandra called out as she stared down the barrel of the gun.
"Where am I?" The guy yelled as Beth, Annie and Ruby appeared behind Cassandra—who had the gun pointed at her face. "Where am I?" The guy repeated.
"Uh, my house." Beth squeaked out. "You're in my house."
"Who the hell are you?" He yelled.
"I'm a friend of your friend's." The kid took a step forward and Cassandra stepped back instinctively as the cold gun touched her head, trying to out run danger. "He thought that you would be safe here." Beth continued.
"I need a car." He pointed a gun at each girl. "Give me your car keys."
"Do you understand that we actually saved you —" Annie cut off.
"Give me the keys!" He yelled.
"Okay, downstairs, on the counter." Beth said as the guy walked past them. "And just take it."

Once the kid had left Cassandra sighed in relief, her heartbeat slowing down as the warm water of the bath almost lulled her to sleep. When she came downstairs the three other woman where sat in the living room drink wine. "Two car seats plus a booster?" Beth muttered. "What's that gonna set me back, like 600 bucks."
"Well, maybe he'll realize it and bring 'em back." Annie joked as Cassandra plopped down next to her.
"That's not how carjackings work." Ruby stated.
"I don't want him back." Cassandra said. "He just had a gun in my face."
Beth leaned against Annie. "Guys, what is even happening?" She asked. "What are we doing?"
"What do you mean?" Ruby questioned.
"I mean, I am so tired of almost dying." Beth cried. "Oh, Carl." She said in realisation.
"No." Cassandra mutated.
"Carl who?" Ruby asked.
"Emma's favorite bunny." The two said at the same time.
"He was on the dash." Beth muttered.
"Now he's on a drive-by." Cassandra said walking into the kitchen to get herself a drink.
