Chapter two
Dylan
Why did he have to go to his nerdy cousin's house? Why couldn't he stay home?
Eighteen year old Dylan had just finished packing and was on the phone with his girlfriend, Natalie. "I promise I'll be soon. Don't worry." He spoke into the phone as he laid down on his bed.
"Okay. I'll just miss you." Her voice was annoying in the phone. "What's your cousin like? He can't be that bad."
"He's the biggest nerd I know." He laughed remembering at Christmas the nerd locked himself in his room once he opened all the book presents and won't open the others.
He heard someone shout in the background that it was time for dinner. "I have to go eat dinner. Love you. Have a safe trip." Love you. He wanted to throw up.
"Yeah okay." And he hung up. Speaking of dinner. He walked downstairs to the kitchen.
As he reached the fridge his phone buzzed. He don't even look at it. It always went off. He opened the fridge to grab some pizza he ordered last night. As he heated the pizza up in the microwave his phone beeped again and again. Sometimes he wished he could through it out the window. Finally, the somewhat good pizza was finished and he could eat.
He dreaded the next morning. It had to be the worst day of his life. His mother got him up at 5:15 and made him load up all his stuff. This was it. His perfect life at home was over. He had to go live with his nerdy cousin just because he burnt down his school. It wasn't his fault the firemen didn't get there fast enough.
Hours on the road. Driving without even a look at his phone. No talking to anyone. He drove his nice silver car till he finally reached his aunt's old house.
Aunt Suzy greeted him as he arrived. She had been working on the flower bed.
"Do you like them?" She asked as they stood next to the flower bed.
"Yes. They are very pretty." He lied. She was like his mom no green thumb.
"Here let me have Sam help you with your stuff." She moved towards the house. Opening the door she yelled. "SAM, COME HERE!" The tall slim boy walked downstairs.
"What?" He asked then his eyes fell on Dylan. "Oh."
"Help him with his stuff." She commanded. She turned back to Dylan. "Sorry, sweetie, but you'll have to share a room with Sam." Great. How many children do they have and he had to share a room with him.
Sam put his stuff in their tiny room. It had a bunk bed, a desk, and a lot of bookshelves.
"I get top bunk." Sam took a book from one of the many bookshelves and claimed the ladder to his bed. "Two rules here. One: don't touch my books. Two: don't touch my laptop, or my phone. Got it?" Sam asked him still reading. Dylan nodded and started unpacking.

The moment he arrived he wanted him to move back. Why did he have to come? Now Dylan laid on the lower bunk doing something on his phone.
Sam's phone started ringing. Tori. "Hey, Tori, did you see how many followers I got." He asked excited.
"Yeah. That's what I was calling you about. Anyways how's it going?" She asked.
"Horrible. I don't like him." He spoke into the phone.
"I'm right here." Dylan responded from below.
"I wasn't talking to you was I." He turned the conversation back to Tori. "Anyways, did you finish the review for the movie?" He asked.
"Yeah. I think I really upset people and stuff."
"Cool." He laughed.
"I know right." She laughed too.
"Im going to go read. See you tomorrow." He was already reading but whatever.
"I know that's an excuse but fine. See you then." She hung up leaving Dylan, him, and his book. All he needed was his book. Dylan was just extra space.
He finished his book again and climbed down his ladder to go pick out another book. He hated the choices. It was so hard picking a book. He loved them all. Finally, he decided on a book and climbed back into his covers.
"Is this what you do everyday?" Dylan asked from below.
"Rule number three: don't talk to me." He continued to read the book Tori said someone died in. Finally, he read the part. But she was the main character. What? Why? How? He screamed. His family found this normal for him. The first time it happen they ran into his room with a bat. The next time they did the same thing till it became normal.
"What are you doing, Nerd?" Dylan asked. "Shut up. I'm trying to sleep." Speaking of sleep. One more chapter couldn't hurt even though he had school tomorrow. Oh, well. He kept reading till the end. He looked at the clock 2:30. Maybe he should get some rest. He climbed down to put his book away to find Dylan up on his phone.
"Dude, do you know what time it is?" He asked. Dylan didn't respond. Was he sleep phoning or something. Was this what popular people did? Freaky.
He climbed into bed and finally got some sleep.
_______________Tori______________
She woke up to the sound of her baby sister, Kate, crying. She shoved a pillow over her ears. Tori had read all night till finally she fell asleep with the book on her face.
She waited for the bus to come. Tori put her blue earphones in her ears. Turning up the music while the bus arrived. She sat in her usual seat and pulled out a book. She continued reading where she left off. Good thing when the book fell on her face it fell on the page she was on. It only happens so often.
Then, all the sudden she heard gasp of air and people fell quite. She looked up to see Sam and another boy beside him. The boy had brown hair and dreamy blue eyes. He had muscles that Sam wished he had. At that she laughed in her head. Sam slide into his seat next to her. "That your cousin?" She pointed to the other boy who sat at the nearest empty seat.
"Yeah. I don't like him." She laughed knowing that her friend was just jealous. "I'm not jealous." He read mind.
"Sure. Sure." She laughed and continued reading.
Thanks for reading and sorry the last chapter was so short. Anyways, thanks to my-mini-fridge for some help on the plot <3
