Chapter Twelve

Tori

Finally after days of waiting the hospital released Dylan. He held a beautiful smile as he sat in his wheelchair. The day was amazing the sun was smiling and not a cloud in sight. Tori helped him into the car grateful that he was still here.

“Dylan, your mom was wondering if you are still coming home. If you do we’ll have Sam drive you.” Aunt Suzy sat up front in the driver’s seat. Dylan frowned as if remembering where he was going before the crash. To comfort him Tori took his hand.

“Yeah, I guess that’s okay.” He was doing what’s best. He would have his family and new friends. But he would always have Tori and Sam.

Once they arrived home Dylan received his bags that had been in the crash. Tori walked to him as he sat in his wheelchair by Sam’s truck.

“I’m going to miss you.” Tori hugged him.

“Same. Tori, I think it’s best if we just stay friends. Not all high school girlfriends work out and I just don’t want to hurt you. I want to be friends with you and not ruin that.”

Tori smiled. “I don’t want to ruin it ether.”

Sam walked up behind them. “Ready to go?” Dylan nodded. Tori help him into the car and hugged him one last time.

“See you later.” A tear drop from her face.

“See you later.” Dylan smiled.

Sam pulled the car out of the driveway and into the street leaving Tori to walk home alone.

She pulled out her book as she walked home. Romeo and Juliet. Their book. It would always be their book. She placed her earphones in her ears and listened to the songs playing on her playlist.

Already she missed him. She missed his smile and his voice. Tears started falling from her face. The thought of him having new friends, a new girlfriend probably, a new life without them made her cry even harder. It was selfish thinking. He would be happy. This should make her happy but it didn’t.

She kept crying till she turned the corner to her house. She couldn’t let people see her cry. Once she reached her porch she had wiped her tears away and looked like she hadn’t been crying that much. But her mom knew different once she entered the house her mom hugged her as Tori couldn’t stop crying.

Sam

They hardly talked on the way to Dylan’s house. They only asked if they were hungry or if they had to go to the restroom. Dylan slept halfway there and plays on his phone the rest of the way.

Finally when Sam entered his cousin’s drive way, Sam was ready to get out of the car that made him stiff. He helped Dylan with his bags and spoke to his aunt and uncle.

“Dylan, I’m going to miss you but this is going to be good for you. The new school and all.” Sam smiled at Dylan as they stood on his front porch.

“Yeah, I guess it will be.” Dylan hugged him and they said good bye one last time.

“See you for Christmas then?” Sam asked as he got in his car.

“Yeah.” Dylan smiled in his wheelchair.

This is a really short chapter and the last :( But I’m planning on writing an Epilogue so that will be the final part in the story. Please comment, vote, etc. Thanks for reading <4
