Chapter Eleven
Dylan
She was right maybe they weren’t to be anything more than friends. Maybe this was it. Maybe he should get on with life than worrying about this.
Dylan stood over his suitcase. His emotion was the same as the storm outside. The thunder represented his anger, the grey clouds represented his sadness, and the raindrops represented as his tears.
He had just packed his last thing and was now starting to gather his things to load them up. When he got home from talking with Tori he called his mother. She found a new school with a staring football team and education system. But he wasn’t going in to this as a ‘popular’ he was going into it as himself. A love for books and a love for football. Someone who doesn’t care what people think of him. Tori and Sam taught him something he never knew. To be yourself. They didn’t care what people thought of them. He knew they will always be his friends for it.
“Dylan?” Sam stood in the doorway of their bedroom. Dylan didn’t want to leave him. All he could think of doing his hugging his cousin. So he did they hugged for a second and pulled away.
“Thank you for being there for me. I didn’t know who I was before I came here. Thank you.”
“Dylan, I’m going to miss you. I just hope you be who you are at your new school.” Sam smiled. There was something different about him. Maybe Dylan taught him something too. There was also different between them. They weren’t strangers who hated each other they were now like brothers.
“Okay. I’m going to head out so I can talk to Tori before traffic.” Dylan went downstairs trying to hold on to the tears. He was going to miss this place. His Aunt Suzy waited for him at the bottom. As soon as he reached the bottom she embraced him into a big hug.
“I’m going to miss you, Aunt Suzy.”
“Same to you, Sweetie.” Then, she let go of him and turned to Sam. “Sammy, help him with his stuff.
He didn’t have much just two suitcases so it didn’t take long to pack up but it took longer to say goodbyes to the family he would never have thought of as his own till now.
